We are a small family business providing luxury accommodation (10 individual bungalows) on a 40-acre plot of farmland not far from the famous hiking spot, Phukradueng, Loei province. We are on the main road between Loei and Bangkok, so very easy to access! The downside is that there is quite a lot of traffic passing the front of the property, however, it is easy to escape the road by walking into the farm where we have a huge variety of tropical fruits and vegetables growing. We are trying to move our resort towards a more eco-friendly business and there are plans to build a Zero Waste bulk shop and cafe, sourced by what we grow on site. We are a long way from being zero waste so we really welcome volunteers with expertise in this field, or volunteers that are willing to learn alongside us through trial and error. The work here varies from season to season (see more details below!) so there will be times when precise work needs doing and times when your initiative and ideas will be very welcome - if you are inspired to start a project while you are here then let's talk about it - we have the resources! We really welcome volunteers who know how to enjoy themselves as we are quite isolated from town (although it's only a 10 minute drive) - you will probably only meet a handful of people while staying with us. Please make sure you are ok with that before contacting us. Please get in touch if you are interested in joining our journey!

1. Free accommodation and 3 meals a day - breakfast is up to you - there is an abundance of tropical fruits to choose from (that means smoothies!!!) and we can provide you with eggs and bread if you prefer. Lunch and dinner is usually shared - I will normally cook for you, but it is always fun to cook together! There is a corner shop nearby so you will be able to buy things for yourself if we don't have them. If there is something you need, let us know and we can pick it up from the shops in town when we go (within reason of course!).
2. Get to learn about Zero Waste and experiment alongside us on our journey towards zero waste. We are not at our destination and you will experience the challenging reality of trying our best to get there!
3. Have the opportunity (based on the season!) to work on 40-acres of land growing a diverse array of tropical fruits and vegetables in a traditional way.
4. In your free time, you can enjoy some beautiful walks through the countryside and local Thai villages.
We need help with a variety of different tasks which change depending on the season, including (but not limited to!): processing and canning fruits, taking care of plants, repainting furniture, organizing our barn, taking pictures to post on social media, making art out of trash, various DIY projects, harvesting crops, cleaning/preparing the guest rooms, weeding, etc... There is always work to be done on the property and a lot of tasks which need completing! If possible, we will let you know ahead of time what kind of work you will be expected to do. As mentioned previously, there will be times when there are precise jobs which need doing and times when initiative and the ability to work independently will be crucial! Your initiative and creativity are always very welcome! If you have something that you want to try out then we can talk about it and it's very possible that we will be able to provide you with the resources. We are very flexible and eager to learn from you as well as share our knowledge!
The main accommodation is a large shared space (which used to be a restaurant) at the front of the property, so about 50 meters from the main road. The space has large windows (a lot of natural light) and is surrounded by plants and trees so is quite exposed. Within the space is a chillout/lounge area, a sleeping space (we have mattresses for you to put down on the floor), 2 shared bathrooms with western toilets and an area designated for storage. There is no air conditioning so it can get quite hot during the day but we do have a fan so you can keep yourself cool at night!
If you would prefer to be closer to nature then we have a tent which you are more than welcome to set up wherever you please, amongst the fruit trees and as far from the main road as you can... There are also hoses with fresh water so if you want to be really rustic and shower outside then you could do that too!
You can hike up Phukradueng mountain on your days off! National park opens from Oct1-June30 or you could hitchhike to a waterfall if you like. Also we have some rules that we want everyone to follow strictly because there were problems before and we don't want that to happen again. Some of which are NO drugs period, no drinking before 5.30 pm and light's out at 10pm. Breakfast is at 8 am and we start working at 9am-12pm and 3-5pm, with 2 days off in 7, so there is time for rest in the middle of the day and evening strolls after 5pm when it's nice and cool. We are quite isolated so if you come alone it can get a bit lonely here. I suggest bring a book or two or if you have projects of your own to work with it would help staying with us not so lonely. We go to town quite often you can come along with us sometimes if needed.
