Our eco-lodge, built in Egypt in 1986 is located in South Sinai between Taba and Nuweiba. The Lodge attempts to create a simple and unique form of tourism that has a relatively low impact on the surrounding environment and native inhabitants. Simplicity personifies the philosophy we use in managing the entire camp. We have a friendly staff from all over Egypt giving volunteers a chance to understand the different cultures that exist in the country. Other than the actual management of the camp, We have a small farm with some pigeons, sheep and goats.
Help with Eco Projects
One of our aims is to become a model for cultural exchange. Thus, everything we provide to our customers is Egyptian. This will allow volunteers to get exposed to the Egyptian Culture. Also, most of our friendly staff are Egyptian and speak Arabic so it will be a great way to learn and practice the arabic language. And finally, we have guests from all over the world making it a great place to learn about the world from the experiences of our guests. Other than that, we are an EcoLodge that is committed to work closely with a NGO (established by the same owner of the lodge) with the local bedouin tribes and the government to protect the natural environment such as the desert and coral reefs. Volunteers will get to know the local bedouins and understand their unique culture and way of life.
We have started a Volunteerism Program providing volunteers with vacation opportunity while at the same time helping around in the camp. This includes, but is not limited to cleaning, tiding, cooking, herding/feeding sheep and goats, farming and carrying materials from one place to another.
Volunteers are provided with either a bamboo hut with a direct view to the beach or a tent depending on availability.
Our location is very close to Taba, Nuweiba, St Catherine and Dahab. In a one to two hour drive, a volunteer can explore the many natural landmarks in the region like for example Fjord Bay, the Blue Hole and St Catherine mountain and Moses Mountain. Also, our location is nearby natural valleys such as WeshWashi, Ain Khudra and Wady Malha allowing volunteers to easily get to know the geography of the region for the hiking lovers.
