Description
Hello, my name is Jude. Four months ago, I moved into a cottage in the Burren (a national park), a stone's throw from Lough Bunny, one of the purest freshwater lakes in Ireland.
I am situated only a 10-minute drive from three towns: Corofin, Kinvara and Gort. There are no buses running past my house, but I make daily trips to town.
I live on my own and enjoy reading, playing music, cooking and exploring the Burren. The Burren is famous for its unusual rock structures, fauna, flora, and many megalithic sites, holy wells (there's one for every ailment), fairy forts, and incredible views with beautiful fresh air.
Kinvara is well known as a popular tourist attraction on the Wild Atlantic Way. A population of 700 but there are 6 pubs, and music is played every night of the week (yes even in winter). Ireland is famous for its traditional music; if you can play a tune, you can join in.
I'm adding an extension to the house and starting a garden; it would be great to have help around the house and garden. -

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
There are many incredible walks and hikes in the Burren, I have a bike if you like to cycle and I am a short walk from the lake if you like to swim in fresh water.
Kinvara has a fantastic and welcoming traditional music scene; if you play an instrument, you’ll be in heaven, you can join in with sessions. If you like listening to music, this is one of the best spots to soak up traditional Irish music.
The Wild Atlantic Way is a 15-minute drive from my house. If you come with a car, you will be able to get around easily; however, without a car there is no public transport, so you can bike, or head in with me to sessions or for a swim in the sea. -
Help
My project includes light gardening and household chores.
If you play a musical instrument and want to immerse yourself in Irish music, even better! -
