Hiya! I’m Stephanie and I love to travel, cycle, read, create, write, garden, and enjoy nature. During the academic year, I’m a master English teacher in Houston, TX where I’ve served 28 years in education. Recently an empty nester, I love the freedom life has given me and I spend most of my summers traveling and cycling. Presently, I have a round trip ticket to Ireland (end of May - end of July) and am looking for different opportunities for culture interaction and ways to give back to the Irish community. Last summer, I felt a deeply spiritual connection to Eire; it was as if the land and heathers called me. So, I’ve decided to return to the emerald isle and discover new areas, culture, and a wee bit of craic. I’m great with my hands and my mind, and I am looking for caring, kind, and progressive humans and experiences.

I teach middle school students, raised two of the kindest humans on the planet (my children - now adults) and many a fur baby, and somehow I’ve obtained three degrees (including a Masters), so I can do almost anything! After cycling in France and Ireland last summer, I came home, designed a garden, dug up my backyard, and built it; Garden is thriving! I love thrifting and decorating, and I express my creative side via my wardrobe and my home. My coworker calls my style eclectic with a random drip of heavy metal. To be clear, I do not enjoy heavy metal music. I am passionate about caring for Mother Earth; most of my home decor and wardrobe are thrifted items. I’ve been a vegetarian for 44 years. I don’t mind the hard work it takes to make things look nice. I can sew, decorate, build things, and carry on an intellectual conversation. I’m just beginning to learn Sign Language. One of my favorite things to do is stargaze. I also love the almost lost art of handwriting.

What else ...

COVID was tough on me and I almost didn’t make it. I learned to breathe and walk again, and a new appreciation for an active lifestyle was the result. Last summer, I cycled southern France and parts of Ireland. It was in Ireland I found my Earth home, and I want to spend as much time in the Irish landscape and air as possible. Kindness is my religion. Wisdom is a gift I enjoy earning.
