Description
Biodynamic farm in sunny Cawston, BC
My wife and I manage a 2.5 acre hobby farm. The property is mostly old orchard with cherry, apricot, plum, peach, apple, and pear trees. We also have a personal vineyard and gardens. Most of the food we grow is processed by ourselves. All of the excess goes to our local community or becomes animal feed and compost to give back to the land. We have a flock of free range chickens that patrol the property and keep the bugs in check for us. We also have a small goat herd that helps us cut the grass and eats everything we prune from the trees and vines. We get some eggs and milk/cheese out of the deal as well!
What we do for fun:
- We do regular runs to the big city for grain, hay, some groceries, and other shopping
- River floats down the Similkameen
- Day trips to friend's farms and wineries
- Visit local natural spots like lakeside campgrounds, private beaches, and watefall hikes
- Hop on the ebikes and tour around townTypes of help and learning opportunities
