Description
This is a non-profit organisation in Romania, whose main purpose is to create communities of involved people around issues concerning the environment, the natural and cultural heritage and education. Since the year 2000, we have organised tree planting activities, sports events, workshops and other creative activities involving many crafts: building, carpentry, painting, design etc. We are strong advocates of the issues our nature is facing and we have always believed in the power of volunteering as a way to become the change in the world. We like to think of this place as a place of exchange between people, each doing what they do best, impacting and helping each other grow. Over the years, over 10.000 volunteers have passed us by.
Our latest project is a long distance trail that spans over 1.400 km, which is connected with at least 107 other communities across Romania. This exciting project is a great opportunity for people of all ages to get involved in a myriad of activities. From artistic endeavours like sculpting to household activities or being part of the maintenance of the trail, all in an organic and lively environment transited by a lot of people, hikers, with different stories to share. In the same time, it offers a safe way to travel across the country and discover new places, new communities and represent us. It is also an internationally awarded and recognised project.Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Our campus is situated in a mountain village, where the great outdoors offer a true and authentic experience of the Romanian rural life. But the real driving motor for cultural exchange is clearly. This long distance trail that was built by us, is a true ambassador of Transylvania and Romania. It showcases the vast and unsuspected ethnic, cultural, historical, geographical diversity of the country. It allows people to discover the country by walking, which is a great change of perspective.
Help
This is a place where we don't wait too long before embarking on a new adventure. While there are many predictable activities volunteers can do, new ones arise all the time. Some of the things travellers could expect to be doing are as it follows:
- household activities: helping with cleaning, taking care of chickens or of our three dogs, helping in the garden
-help: carpentry, house building, refurbishing, reconditioning etc
-helping hikers that stop by our campus to spend the night before continuing on the road
-travelling across here and working at the maintenance of the trail: refresh markings, installing or repairing direction poles etc
-artistic activities: sculpting in rock (again for the VT project, as the road is marked with andesite kilometer stones, each individually carved by artists)Languages spoken

We offer accommodation in a common sleeping area situated in a loft, as well as rooms with bunkbeds (6 beds/room). We have four showers in a shared area, as well as separate toilets. We have a great dining room and a professionally equipped kitchen. We have a chef working in our kitchen, who cooks three meals a day and can adapt to any dietary requirements (gluten free, vegan etc).
What else ...
This is first and foremost a community. We share music, good times, good food and good vibes. We like being at home but a lot of times we're on the go and when we go, everyone comes along, as we have plenty of cars for transportation. We travel a lot due to our project with, which is a great opportunity to discover new places and people.
