Description
I am an astronomer working at the University of Guanajuato. I run the Astronomy Department composed by 13 other researchers. At the the Astronomy Department we have two observatories where it is possible to attend and learn from it.
The house has many plants, I like it green and I plan to improve the terraces by putting more plants around.
The house has terrace and nice view in the hotel area of Guanajuato in San Javier. We are very close to the center of the city, only 1.5 km walking distance.
We have a common area with electric stove for cooking.

For the rest of the day you can just relax, write, use internet (good wifi available), walk, play with the dog and giving food for her, watch movies, or whatever you like. You can practice your Spanish with me and the guests, and we can give travel advice for the rest of your trip.
You can get days off to visit nearby and nice cities without problems we have to arrange in advance.The center of Guanajuato is 15 minutes walking. It takes 1 hour to go the San Miguel de Allende.
Help
The first part of the project is a small (5 rooms) which is already working in Guanajuato capital. One of the most beautiful cities in México.
People independent and responsible are welcome, couples or friends with working experience, some spanish knowledge is needed.
2 to 3 WEEKS stays at least are desirable. I speak fluently English and Spanish. Our place functions as a small hotel, but clients come only during weekends in general, outside high season. During the week, the place is more quiet.
In exchange I offer a beautiful spot, quiet, free internet, no services charges with accommodation included.
Regarding the rooms help cleaning the rooms, changing sheets, doing the laundry.
Tasks inside the house: cleaning toilets, bathrooms
Outside: watering the plants, I have one dog. I would like to have her bath and give food.
Small repair and maintenance jobs always occur, as articles break down or need attention otherwise: painting, rebuilding or improving the fence, making order, reorganize. ...Or whatever else you think that needs to be done.
Own initiative is needed, I don´t like to command people but also don´t like to chase people for things to be done. Be creative and a self starter, see tasks that need to be done.
Work is as said manily during weekends, so days off should be different from friday, saturday, sundays and holidays please.

I asked to help with some things done in the house, answers was yes but not done generally. We talked about 5 hours per day 5 days per week, however all work was left for the others worawayers. He is a nice person but there is a lack of compromise with the exchange. Hope he does better for next people.

The place is very quiet and relaxed - a perfect chance to have a little break.
There was almost no guests when I was there, so not much housekeeping to do, but I had to water the plants and basically keep the whole place clean and tidy.

We really enjoyed our workaway at this cute little bed and breakfast. The B&B is in a great spot up on the hill and you get a beautiful view of Guanajuato.
