We live in a rural part of the Scottish Borders, at the foot of the Cheviot Hills and we're developing our home and acre of land into a place to live comfortably and relax. We grow and produce our own vegetables and fruit. We have a huge vegetable garden and family garden that need near-constant care and, as we are busy running our own business we have limited time to keep on top of everything that needs doing. We’ve hosted volunteers for the past 5 years and this is a part of our lives here that we feel we benefit from the most: we get to complete our projects and make new friends at the same time. We're a friendly family who love music, food and learning about other cultures.

Help in the house
We are an open-minded and kind-hearted family and we love to meet people from other parts of the world so we can share our languages and our experiences through music, food, conversation and fun.
We need help with: growing food from seed; maintaining the veg plot and hedging; digging and planting; erecting stock-fencing; building a tree house; help around the house; garden design; painting the outside and inside of the house; looking after the dogs and chickens. All we ask is for a positive attitude to helping us and in return we will look after you.
You will have your own private room in our family home. In return for around 5 hours work we can provide you with your accommodation and all your meals.
We have bikes if you fancy exploring the local area and a good knowledge of the walks (big and small) around and about. We are happy for you to accompany us on family days out.
