We are an intentional international community founded in 2002 near the River Rhine and the German-Dutch border. We are in a process of transition: re-defining our vision and mission, and restructuring the community organisation so as to meet these goals and live out our core values. There are approximately 12 full-time community members as well as several part-time volunteers who live in the vicinity. Of the full-time members there is one couple with a baby and one member with young children who visit regularly.

We appreciate volunteers who bring energy and can take initiative carry responsibility for tasks that fall within our area of operation. We are also looking for people with medium to long-term ambitions to live in an eco-community and take on a 'carrier' role in our community.

PLEASE NOTE: We hope that those volunteers who wish to come here do so for mutual benefit - tell us about your interests and how your skills might contribute to our goals. If you do not communicate that you have read some background about us and how you may fit in, we may not respond to your request.

An overview of our main activities:

*️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️ Running a seminar-house for workshops, retreats and as a bed & breakfast: this includes promotion, booking administration, IT, housekeeping, serving BnB guests, facilitating group bookings, events and workshops.

*️️️️️️ Kitchen - ensuring that the community is fed nutritious and healthy food, sourced from our garden and responsible suppliers. The kitchen is also responsible for procurement of supplies, budgeting and planning. Included is catering to events which are usually hosted and catered for in our seminar house.

*️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️ Tending our biological vegetable and fruit garden which is incorporating permaculture and biodynamic principles. You will be expected to coordinate with our existing team who have planned a seed and planting schedule, as well as other tasks: watering, harvesting and weeding.

*️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️ Maintenance: the usual ongoing challenges of running a large property with a variety of buildings and operations. For example: plumbing and pipes; lighting and electrical; structural upkeep - doors, windows, roofing; etc.

*️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️ Ground-keeping (3 hectares): this includes raking the leaves, taking out the compost, cleaning the common areas, chopping wood for the furnace, firing the heating furnace on a regular basis.

We aim to be a place where people of different backgrounds can live out their full potential. We want to learn about living together in order to build a new kind of society where we understand, support and live in harmony with each other and our own selves.

We would also like to remind you that we are an ecologically minded community and have chosen VEGETARIANISM to the exclusion of all meat. We are not all vegans. If you have any special dietary requirements please communicate this to us in your response.

Drugs are not allowed. Smoking is only permitted in designated places. Alcohol is acceptable if you partake in moderation. Our relationships are based on trust and so we would make agreements with you as to what tasks/projects you could be allocated and then; we trust in your honesty and integrity to get on with them.

Ideally, you will have a contact person assigned to you who would be the person to whom you refer to for any problems, questions and suggestions etc. We particularly emphasize clear and non-violent communication i.e. being respectful towards each other even when there is disagreement.

We share responsibility for daily/weekly/ monthly household chores and aim to improve our standards constantly.
