    Description

Join our lively family in beautiful Lugano and experience life with us!

We are a Spanish family living in the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland — a unique cultural crossroads that makes every day an adventure. Marco and Cristina are the parents of two sets of twins: Leo and Rodrigo (4.5 years old) and Mar and Dani (18 months). Life is full, joyful, and wonderfully chaotic.

We'd love to welcome someone who wants to experience what real family life looks like across cultures — Spanish warmth, Swiss precision, and Italian flavor, all under one roof in sunny Lugano.
We are passionate about food and cooking — expect homemade Spanish dishes, Mediterranean flavors, and the occasional Swiss or Italian inspiration. Sharing meals together is a big part of how we connect, and we'd love to cook with you and learn from your culinary traditions too.

One of our dreams is to travel the world as a family and show our children that life can look completely different depending on where you are born and what path you choose. For now, Workaway is our way of travelling without leaving home — every guest brings their world with them, and that is exactly the kind of experience we want our children to grow up with. We love hearing about different ways of living, working and seeing the world.

As part of daily life together, help with household tasks and occasionally being present with the children while Cristina works nearby would be appreciated. In return, we offer a genuine home experience, great food, and a window into expat family life in one of Switzerland's most beautiful cities.

We also warmly welcome families with children — there is something especially powerful about kids seeing firsthand that there are many ways to live, travel and build a life. If you are a family exploring the world together, we would love to share that spirit with you.
If you're curious, open-minded and love family environments, we'd love to hear from you

We love meeting new people and share our experiences with them. We are young professionals, and have many ideas.

We speak Spanish, English and Italian fluently, with some French and German thrown in — so conversation around our table tends to get wonderfully multilingual. You're welcome to practice any of these languages with us.

    Help

As part of daily life together, help with household tasks (e.g. clean the house, assist us decluttering and organising, help with laundry) and occasionally being present with the children while Cristina works nearby would be appreciated.

Sometimes Cristina would need help to go to places with the babies like the park or the swimming pool, that's an optional but it could be helpful.

We have some decoration ideas but need help implementing them, if you are good with that and/or are strong enough to love furniture around, you could also help us with that project.

    Accommodation

We have two extra bedrooms, so you will be placed in one or the other depending on the availability of the room. We have two bathrooms, we normally only use the smaller one because is closest to our bedroom. The bigger one will be for you, but we use it for the washing machine and to bathe the babies. Both bedrooms share a balcony so you would have your own balcony.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Lugano is a wonderful little city in the heart of sunny Ticino, we live 10 min walking from the train station so our apartment is well connected. In Ticino you can hike, swim in the lakes or rivers, visit many beautiful villages around and also visit Italy (we are only 8km away to the closest Italian border).
