  • Description

We are a small group of people who tries to implement and disseminate ways of living and producing in harmony with nature. We live in the Tahtacıörencik village, near Ankara. We want to create sustainable and replicable models in such areas as small-scale family farming, natural farming, permaculture, nature conservation, community-supported agriculture, non-violent communication, and gift economy.

During 2016 we will mostly need volunteers to help us in building our cottage house. Volunteers can stay in a shared tent, sleep in their own tents, or stay with us in our current house in the village (limited).

On our farm land we constrcuted an open kitchen, a simple sun-heated shower, and compost toilets. Around the kirchen we have solar energy for light and for charging phones and laptops. We have 3G wi-fi for e-mail and for other e-communication.

We will welcome people who can assist us in realizing our ecological farm and cottage house projects. On our land of about 8 decars, we have started to build a house out of stones, strawbales, wood and adobe.

Our water and gardening infrastructure is ready. We have started growing organic vegetables and planting trees as part of our permaculture design. We are currently producing natural products in food, health and cosmetic categories, and we take part in a PGS (Participatory Guarantee System) in Ankara. We also collaborate with the villagers to promote an ecological development in and around our village.

During 2016 we need volunteers to help us in building our cottage house and work for the eco-gardens. Volunteers will can share a big tent for their stays, sleep in their own tents, or stay with us in our current house in the village (limited).

Please contact us in advance, preferably at least 10 days before, if you intend to come to help us. Some guidelines for helpers can be found on our Website, under the menu "Gonulluler Icin Bilgiler / Info for Volunteer Helpers"

We are living in a village near Ankara, where the locals continue their traditional farming and husbandry activities. It is a beautiful village at the southern edge of Koroglu mountains, with traditional houses made from stones, wood and adobe. Villagers produce milk, diary, eggs from free range animals, and there are a number of organic vegetable growers. Near the village -and close to our land - runs the Suvari rivulet, which hosts many different fish species and a rich biodiversity around it. There are many interesting routes into the mountains. Beypazarı, which is a historical and touristic town, is 30 mins away with a car.
