  • Description

We are building a Holistic Place 40 minutes south of Xilitla, San Luis Potosí. On our 6 hectares of land, surrounded by hills of tropical rainforest, you'll find a diversity of fruit trees, herbs, two water sources, a stream and a deep pool of clear water. We are located a 30 minutes walk from the nearest villages, so it's very peaceful. Our project is developing a place where you can learn to live in direct contact with nature following permaculture ethics, applying the techniques of biodynamics. We live off grid, but have electricity from solar panels, we cook using solar cookers and by burning wood, and have a compost toilet. We are asking for a charity cooperation of 100 Pesos per day for food, and a stay of at least one week.

We are currently developing our land, and there is a lot of room for new projects. We particularly want to become auto-sustainable, and have already planted crops to achieve this, but there is a lot of room to grow. We are happy to share our space with anyone who enjoys the outdoors, and who is interested in learning or applying permaculture to raw but fertile land. We would like to develop the land with terraces, better access and also are working on long term plans of sustainability that will provide for many years to come. The sharing of visual Arts, literature and music play an important role in our community as well as the exchange of ancestral wisdom about local medicinal Plants. Accommodation is provided in a shared room, but we are hoping to build cabins in the near future.

If you have any permaculture idea or topic in your head you really want to bring into life, we love to give you space for it!
We are always looking for longtime volunteers (2 month+) who want to take over following bigger projects in garden, fruit forestry, construction or art. Let us know!

In the area you can visit the town Xilitla and a place called Las Pozas where Sir Edward James built a surreal garden, and there are also many places for hiking or to go for a swim.
