    Description

I am an artist/sculptor my work engages with site, collaboration and seeks to engage with social, psychological and physical space, to understand the ‘UseHistories’ of place and how they inform the urgencies of now. You will be working to support and develop a not-for-profit project that promotes social art and a practice of embodied stewardship on the island of Unst. Artist volunteers can apply for a collaborative residency once they have completed a successful workaway placement.

Exploring what it means to live an embedded relationship to place.I have lived and worked on Unst since 2005 engaged in a process of Deep Listening and a sustainable Social Art practice. I work within walking, cycling , kayaking distance of the project, inviting others into this ecology to collaborate and to develop a sustainable engagement and immersive experience through ongoing non profit-making projects and residencies.

I am vegetarian into walking, wild swimming, cooking, exploring, music, film, dance. The Shorestion was built for lighthouse families in the 1860's surrounded by sea cliffs a nature reserve and a beautiful beach at Burrafirth. I choose to live without a car but it is assessable by bus ferry and bicycle.

All my dates are now booked up for 2023 thanks for looking I will be opening my calendar for next year in January 2024.
