    Description

    Hey you all,
We are Dennis and Lindsay and live in a little hobby farm in the Netherlands 50 metres from the border with Belgium.
People call this the middle of nowhere for Dutch this os as much peace and quiet you can get hahaha.... but we love it so!
Besides our jobs it is a bit much to take care for so we love your help especially now with painting windows and cut grass and trees next to the farm animals 2 horses, 2 goats, 15 chicken... do you wanna help and enjoy and siteseeing at our beautiful quiet happy place?

We live surrounded by little farms and fields of green and corns, cows and horses with our neigbours and have lots of wild animal at our little farm like bats, owls, falcons, dears and ranbits who love to enjoy the peace and shelter here to bread. We prefer to see them in the morning when we wake up, instead of a supermarket, town, cars or macdonalds.
If you don't love nature, many animals and being surrounded by "nothing" just typical Dutch nature and farms (although we believe we have everything) please skip our adress and search o . You will become crazy here, and us too 😉
If you do love this, respect all life and wanna learn and live with us, just keep reading.

We are Dennis and Lindsay, happily married without children. Sinds 2017 we moved out of the city of Breda to this beautiful place we call home.
We live here with our animal farm 😀: inside: 2 dogs Ravi and Jade, 2 gininea pigs Rikje and Ella, 1 cat Roover, outside: 1 big spanish horse mare Maya (with i ride in the woods and do horsebackarchery with) and a mini shet male horse Sjaak, who loves yo ride with a carriage or near the bike our party animal and little big support. 2 goats Winnie and Roosje, many chicken and walking indian ducks (i'll give uiu there names at arrival) living in the fruittree garden and lots of free animal coming and going or staying at our beautiful biodiversity farm. We have the acknowledgment or sign on our farm, or how do you say that, that our farm is a biodiversity farm of our province, witch means no poisons, much different treas and animals and rebuilding life and nature like it was in Holland before. We our proud.
In daytime Dennis works fulltime as a primary schoolteacher and lindsay as a wild animal caretaker in a wildlife shelter for birds and small mammals like dear, hidgehogs, squirrels and many many birds big and small all Dutch inheems not exotic.
We like our space and rest, but also like yo be active and social (hiking, scouts, horseriding, campfires and more).

This is our first workaway experience as a host, we know it as a workawayt raveler, especially australia.
So we are looking for a experiences workaway, preferred a couple, who help us with our farm animals and know there way in traveling and working to help us start good as hosts. It's a bit scary to open up our home.
We like to have help with: lots of grass mowing at the horses and little wood here, to cut some trees, to give new trees water and please to help us out with paint our doors and windows of the farm.
You can sleep in the whole first level of our farm with 2 bedrooms, 1 livingroom, 1 bathroom with shower and toilet and beautifull views on the farmlands.
You can kook yourself, have your own fride upstairs too and sometimes eat together.
I am at home half days, so you can ask me anyrhing and i like to show you around. Maybe dome salsa in the city or a trip with the horse carrage. Antwerpen belgium and Breda holland is 25 min by car, also a bus stop at 5 km distance. Do you nead a car or bike here. You can use our bikes.

Interested? We will have a videa call to get to know eachother first.
Stay is 2-3weeks. Fir other questions, email us.

    Hope to see you soon!
Lindsay and dennis , wernhout, holland

See nature or visit the citys Breda NL or big Antwerpen Belgium, both have a harbor but Antwerps is most impressive. Also in juli/august i go there salsa dansing at harbor every week a party.

You have to be independable and selfsurportive to stay here, but
i also like to show you around in my free time.

maybe a salsa party or a hike in the woods with the dogs or horse and coffee with dutch famous apple pie there.

    Do we see you here?
We like a videocall in front to get to know eachother before staying. To see if both expectations and karakters match, also with the many animals we have.

If you dont like animals and much nature in your life, please skip our place.

We live in the hometown of Theo van Gogh, famous painting artist, Zundert, so there are many tourist tours to explore in your free time after painting the farm.

Profile photo of 2 Guineapigs Rikje & Ella

    2 Guineapigs Rikje & Ella

Loves to squak and make funny sounds. Likes carrots and looking at us cooking. Ella is actually by neighborkids called Cruella, from 101 Dalmatiors Disney, because she has a long stray of white hair and the rest black like Cruella. We call here Ella because she is so sweet and soft. She is best friends with Rikje.

Profile photo of Chickens and indian walking ducks

    Chickens and indian walking ducks

Ask there names when you get here. We hsd 5 chicken, but 23 may 2026 our chicken Nugget, surprised us with 9 baby chicklets.
And we have 4 rescue walking ducks who are so funny and love ot when it rains. They walk in the fruittree area within the wildflowers and have a small waterarea. Sing for you when you feed them and when they see you. They tell the weather when we are working at the farmland: if we here the ducks getting loud and happy and the chicken quiet and gone then it will be raining soon. Go inside. If we hear the chicken again, its dry and stays dry a bit longer.

    Profile photo of Cat Roover

    Cat Roover

Roover is a sweet curious cat if you give him time to come to you, and respect his territory and sleepingtime on the couch or somewhere in the grass, stables or hay. He lives indoor and outdoor and has it own entrance in the door and also in the yurt door where he comes to sleep with us after an evening hunt. Ofcourse he tries us to be his staff and open doors....and sometimes that works.

Profile photo of Goats Roosje & Winnie

    Goats Roosje & Winnie

Our 2 goats are funny and a bit goofy. They love to plsy and cuddle and if you bring them fresh cutted branches and leaves. Dont free them, no matter how sweet there looks are, because they can run fast and likes that game.

Profile photo of Maya & Sjaak

    Maya & Sjaak

Maya (big spanish mare) & Sjaak (small shetlandpony male) both sweet, curious and free. Have there own ways in their equi-habitat with walking pads and cozy corners with plants and trees on our farmland and walk around all day to eat some leaves and grass everywhere and watch the neigbors work in the plant-production-fields. Curious, and adventuress. Maya is sensitive, brave, willing to work and strong mare horse from Spsin and loves daytrips in the woods, or cuddling at home under the big tree. Maya and lindsay also like to do horsebackarchery at our own farm or with the clubteam they join.

Sjaak is a mini shetlandpony, a real partyanimsl who loves to play and do goofy things. He makes us laugh and comfort us friendly when we feel tiered or sad. So sweet and active. He loves riding with the carriage or go fast and far next to the bike. Than take a big nap layong down. He is a "boefje" in Dutch, a little raskall, never a dull moment with Sjaak.

Profile photo of Jade & Ravi

    Jade & Ravi

So sweet, snowwhite, big rescuedog from Spain always together with Ravi, the red one.
Both loves to cuddle next to you on the couch, loves to hike and go on active adventures (with or without you 😜)

Ravi is also my assisting /therapydog for PTSD. He wakes me up with nightmares andflashbacks and guids me in (medical ) appointments to bark when my heartbeat or tension gets to high. He signals and calmes me down or if not he guides me to the exit. He also protects me and loves me, no matter what. And we love him too.
