  Description

  Hi, we are Kati and Alexander. We have two little sons (born 2020 & 2024). We live in an 300 years old house with stables in the middle of a little town. On our little "farm" we have two cats, some chickens and horses.
  As it is only the two of us and the kids we always like to have some company to help us with our tasks, for little trips with the kids and to share some nice dinners.
  
  We are looking for some help for the first two weeks of June and from the end of June / July on for garden, cleaning stables, help to carry some stuff around and some easy renovating tasks like painting the staircase etc. We can't wait for your message :-)

  Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

  Kati looks after the two kids all day. If the weather allows it, we often go on short Trips during the week, for example we go to a nearby farm and eat ice cream there or we go to a mountain with a castle nearby. On Sundays we often go on a trip with the whole family. Of course you are welcome to come along if you want.
  We usually eat together in the evening with the family at our big table. After that, the day is usually over because of our small children and you can chill comfortably in your room and watch TV, for example.
  By working with us you can learn a lot of different things from caring for animals to growing vegetables and a lot about renovating, depending on what needs to be done when you are here.
  We would be happy if you would cook something typical of your home country for us and tell us about your homeland. We like to cook dinner together with our workawayers or alternating (the cooking time is not part of the work time if we share the cooking).

  Kati betreut den ganzen Tag die beiden Kinder. Wenn es das Wetter zulässt machen wir öfters unter der Woche kleine Ausflüge z. B. zu einem nahegelegenen Bauernhof und essen dort Eis oder wir fahren auf einen Berg mit einer Burg hier in der Nähe. Sonntags machen wir meistens mit der ganzen Familie einen Ausflug. Natürlich kannst Du gerne mit fahren wenn Du möchtest.
  Abends essen wir normalerweise zusammen mit der Familie an unserem großen Küchentisch. Danach ist der Tag meist zuende wegen unserer kleinen Kinder und du kannst gemütlich in deinem Zimmer chillen und z. B. TV schauen.
  Du kannst durch die Mitarbeit bei uns viele verschiedene Sachen lernen vom Tiere versorgen über Gemüse Anbau und einiges über das Renovieren, je nachdem was gerade zu tun ist wenn du da bist.
  Wir freuen uns wenn du mal etwas landestypisches für uns kochst und von deiner Heimat erzählst.

  Help

  We are looking for some immediate help (also shorter stays possible minimum 1 week) for garden, cleaning stables, help to carry some stuff around and some easy renovating tasks like painting the staircase etc. We can't wait for your message :-)
  
  We do all the work on our farm in our free time as Alexander has a regular full time job and I have the kids (farm is not a business). So we need you to help us with for example cooking meals for the family, the animals, cleaning the stables, renovating tasks, making wood, with our vegetable garden, moving things around etc. depending on season and priority.
  Also our 4 year old son is very interested in learning english at the moment, so you could practice a little with him :-)
  
  Current projects: playing and art with our son, decluttering, work in the garden, painting the staircase...

  Alexander would like to practice his English and our 3 year old is currently very interested in learning English and is constantly asking what things are called in English. Kati has started learning Spanish some years ago and would like to continue with it at some point. Kati can speak English well.

  Accommodation

  You will be accommodated in one of our guest rooms which is seperate from our flat. The bathroom is in the house or in the building next door. Of course you can also spend the night in your own van, which you can park safely in our yard. Sleeping in your own tent is difficult at our house because everything is paved, unless you have a good air mattress.
  
  As written before we normally have dinner together. Breakfast and lunch are irregular for us and are often cancelled. But you can always help yourself to toast, Müsli (granola), fruits etc. We are "Freetarians" (meaning we eat whatever we feel like ;-) ) but if you don't eat certain things we will find alternatives for you, Vegan though will be difficult. We always have water (tap), homemade apple juice, tea and coffee as drinks.

  Du wirst in einem unserer Gästezimmer untergebracht sein. Diese befinden sich außerhalb unserer Wohnung. Das Bad befindet sich im Haus oder im Nebengebäude. Natürlich kannst du auch im eigenen Van übernachten, den kannst du sicher in unserem Hof parken. Schlafen im eigenen Zelt ist bei uns am Haus schwierig weil alles gepflastert ist, es sei denn du hast eine gute Luftmatratze.
  Wir essen wie gesagt normalerweise zusammen zu abend. Frühstück und Mittagessen ist bei uns unregelmäßig und fällt oft aus. Aber du kannst dich jederzeit an Brot, Müsli, Obst etc. bedienen. Wir sind "Freetarier" (heißt wir essen alles worauf wir Lust haben ;-) ) aber wenn du z. B. auf Fleisch verzichtest finden wir sicher Alternativen für dich. Als Getränke haben wir immer Wasser (Leitungswasser), selbstgemachten Apfelsaft, Tee und Kaffee da.

  What else ...

  There are many options for your free time here, even though we live in a small town. The bus to Darmstadt leaves directly in front of our house. There is even a thermal bath in Darmstadt. The train station to go to Frankfurt is also not far. We are happy to provide you with a bicycle with which you can explore the area. Forests and fields are very close to enjoy nature. You are also welcome to make (child-friendly) suggestions for our Sunday excursions.
  
  It is important to us that you do not smoke, especially because of the children.

  Möglichkeiten für deine Freizeit gibt es hier viele auch wenn wir in einem kleinen Ort wohnen. Nach Darmstadt fährt der Bus direkt vor unserem Haus ab. In Darmstadt gibt es sogar eine Therme. Der Bahnhof um nach Frankfurt zu fahren ist auch nicht weit. Wir stellen dir gerne ein Fahrrad zur Verfügung, mit dem du die Gegend erkunden kannst. Wald und Felder sind ganz nah um die Natur zu genießen. Gerne kannst du auch (kinderfreundliche) Vorschläge für unsere Sonntags Ausflüge machen.
  
  Uns ist es wichtig dass du nicht rauchst insbesondere der Kinder wegen.
