  We are a left house project in Cottbus. So, here around 10 people live together and share their lives with each other. We have two lovely cats and are a rather young group at the moment. During the week we cook for each other and try to eat together as often as possible, mostly vegan, in the evening.
  Additionally, we live self-governed. That means we are landlords and tenants at the same time and have to solve all issues coming up by ourselves. Since we bought the house in 2018 we renovated the outer shell and now everything inside must be renovated step by step. We have a garden and are a part of the left-green... szene in Cottbus. So, many and also many different tasks are coming up all the time.
  We cannot supervise and navigate you all the time. We are in the learning process, too, and we also have to handle our own lives. However, of course we often do tasks ourselves in the house, build up experience and want to support you. Most of the time you can choose relatively freely what you want to do and when you want to do it. Unless a big and urgent task comes up, where we all have to hustle. We are not serious about your 5h/day but the feeling of solidarity and that you want to do something must be given.
  
  In the near future, we'll be finishing off the last offshoots of old projects and starting new ones. Additionally, we try to turn our garden from a construction site back to an enjoyable place. You might also have to help our carpenter, tiler or plumber from time to time, but this is all supervised, e.g. holding things, carrying stuff or trying stuff out yourself, if wanted. Apart from that, you would do your bit for the household, just like the rest of us, and if you like, implement your own projects.
  
  
  
  Ahoi unbekannte Person!
  Wir sind ein links-alternatives Hausprojekt "-" in Cottbus. Das heißt, wir leben in einer 10er WG gemeinschaftlich zusammen und teilen ein Stück weit unser Leben miteinander. Aktuell haben wir 2 Katzen und sind ein eher junger Haufen. Unter der Woche kochen wir abwechselnd füreinandner und kommen nach Möglichkeit abends zum (veganen) Essen zusammen.
  Außerdem leben wir selbstverwaltet. Das heißt, dass wir Mieter*innen und Vermieter*innen zugleich sind und alle Aufgaben im Haus selbst lösen müssen. Seit wir das Haus 2018 gekauft haben, wurde das Haus von außen saniert, der innere Bereich kommt nach und nach. Auch haben wir einen Garten, der gepflegt werden sollte, und verstehen uns als Teil der links-grünen-... Szene in Cottbus. Demnach fallen immer viele und sehr unterschiedliche Aufgaben an.
  Wichtig ist, dass wir dich nicht zwingend dauerhaft begleiten und anleiten können. Wir sind alle selbst am Erlernen und haben noch ein privates Leben nebenher. Allerdings sind wir selbst natürlich auch öfters am Werkeln und haben mittlerweile auch eigene Erfahrungen aufgebaut und unterstützen dich auch bei allen Fragen. Meistens kannst du dir also relativ frei aussuchen, wann du was und wie viel machen möchtest, außer es steht gerade eine wichtige Sache an. Wir gucken nicht penibel auf deine 5h/Tag, das Gefühl von Solidarität und Lust-auf-was-machen sollte aber stimmen.
  
  In nächster Zeit beenden wir die letzten Ausläufer von alten Projekten und starten neue. Außerdem wollen wir unseren Garten von einer Baustelle wieder in einen schönen Ort verwandeln. Dafür kannst du gerne eigene Ideen einbringen. Eventuell müsstest du unsere Handwerker hin und wieder unterstützen, das ist aber alles angeleitet, z.B. damit Dinge zu halten, Sachen zu tragen oder selbst mal was auszuprobieren. Ansonsten würdest du deinen Teil zum Haushalt beitragen, so wie wir alle auch, und wenn du magst eigene Projekte umsetzen.

  Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

  We often have a lot of guests and integrate them into our group. By this, we all can get in to contact with many different people, and can learn together and from each other. Also, you can get to know Cottbus, how the live is in a big shared house and a lot of people.
  
  Wir haben oft Gäste und integrieren diese gerne in unser Zusammenleben. So können wir alle verschiedene Menschen kennenlernen und von- und miteinander lernen. Hier kannst du Cottbus kennenlernen, wie es ist in unserer Gemeinschaft zu leben und viele verschiedene Menschen.

  Help

  We expect you to be independent and flexible because we cannot provide a fixed and fully accompanied structure. But there are always people, which can help you out, near.
  Sexism, racism and other discriminatory behaviour is not tolerated in our house.
  There is a lot, what needed to be done and what we all can learn. Simply try it and see what happens :) the kind of the tasks and the necessary skills vary extremely according to what you like. Task differ from gardening, sanding, plastering, repairing, support our lives, design walls creatively, support political projects in Cottbus to the implementation of own projects...
  
  Wir erwarten, dass du ziemlich selbstständig und flexibel bist, weil wir dir keinen festen und voll begleiteten Rahmen bieten können. Es sind aber immer Menschen und vor allem Ansprechpartner*innen da.
  Sexismus, Rassismus und anderes diskriminierendes Verhalten jeder Art wird in unserem Haus nicht toleriert.
  Es gibt viel zu tun und zu lernen, probier dich einfach aus :) die Art und Schwierigkeit der Aufgaben variiert, je nach dem was du magst. Von Pflanzen pflegen, Türen schleifen, verputzen, Reperaturen erledigen, unser Leben unterstützen, kreativ auf den Wänden austoben, politische Arbeit in Cottbus unterstützen bis hin zu eigenen Projekten umsetzen, ist alles dabei...

  Accommodation

  Most of the time we will provide you an own room with all the necessary furniture. Maybe for single days you have to sleep in our guests room together with other people. Anyways, together we will find a solution for everyone.
  You use our rooms and we welcome you to eat with us. However, if you prefer to make your own food, thats possible, too. For us you are a -short-term- part of our community and so, we naturally treat you as one of us and not as a stranger or employee.
  
  Meistens können wir dir ein eigenes, mit allem notwendigem eingerichteten, Zimmer geben. Eventell kommt es für vereinzelte Tage vor, dass du in unserem Gästezimmer mit anderen Leuten zusammen schlafen musst. Generell finden wir aber immer eine Lösung, mit der hoffentlich alle zufrieden sind.
  Wie erwähnt, nutzt du unsere Räume mit, kannst gerne mit uns zusammen Essen oder, wenn du das lieber magst, dein eigenes Essen machen.
  Wir sehen dich als -kurzfristigen- Teil unserer Gemeinschaft und behandeln dich demnach auch so und natürlich nicht als fremde/für uns arbeitende Person.

  What else ...

  We live close to the river Spree, in which you can swim and enjoy your time. There is the Strombad, which gives free space to relax, swim and have a nice time. On the area of it is also the Chekov as self-governed club. We can give you a stand-up paddle and two canous. Also, there is a place for bouldering in our street.
  You can go to Cottbus and its surrounding, and visit the Spreewald, Dresden, Berlin and Leipzig easy by foot, bicycle, public transport or car.
  Of course, we also do things together, but this depends on the willing and time of all people involved :)
  
  Wir wohnen in direkter Nähe zur Spree, die hier auch zum Baden und Entdecken benutzt werden kann. Da ist vor allem das Strombad zu erwähnen, das einen Freiraum zum Baden und Entspannen bietet, sowie das Chekov als selbstverwalteten Jugendclub mit auf dem Gelände hat. Wir haben ein Stand-Up Paddle und zwei Kanus, die du gerne benutzen kannst. Der Klunker als Boulderhalle ist auch direkt in unserer Straße.
  Außerdem kann Cottbus und Umgebung, der Spreewald, Dresden, Leipzig und Berlin von hier aus gut mit Rad, Fuß oder Öffis erreicht und entdeckt werden. Autobahnen und Landstraßen gibts auch XD
  Wir können auch gerne gemeinsame Unternehmungen machen, das kommt aber auf Zeit und Lust aller Beteiligten drauf an :)

  We have two cats. It is their home, so your pet cannot hunt them/scare them away or anything. If they can live together peacefully, we love to welcome your pet :) Wir haben zwei Katzen, die hier zuhause sind. Dein/euer Haustier darf sie nicht jagen/wegscheuchen/verschrecken. Wenn dein Tier entspannt im Umgang mit Katzen ist, seid ihr hier herzlich Willkommen!
