  • Description

** Summer: looking for hands in the dirt for gardening, building and pig petting! Minimum stay 2 weeks :) **

Diversified family farm motivated by social politic, agroecology and "paisant" reasons. We like to work, like good food and share good meals and great discussions. Opened and interested to associative projects. Ludo is graduated of 3 years studies in Organic Horticulture in Victoriaville.

It's a 80 ha farm surrounded by mountains and mixt forest. On the hill top of a loosen road. Edge of the farm is a natural limit made by the L'Assomption river. The farm exists since 150 years but the rose farm is running since almost 30 years, with a lot a different phases, peoples and stories. 8 km from a small village (3000 inhabitants) and 25 km from a small city where there are museums, concerts, bar and rock and roll!

The land is mainly covered by forest (45 ha). 25 ha are permanent pastures, fields and gardens. About 1 ha is used for diversified veggies and a little of fruits. We are raising "pastured raised pigs" (50 hogs), animals that live in the field for almost their whole life. Acericulture (maple syrup) during spring, traditionnaly made by hand and wood fire boiling.

Labor is mecanic and manual, trying to respect as much as possible traditional quebecer technics. Also interested in alternative technic innovations adapted to actual system. Goal: develop an efficient agroecological system sustenable and able to create jobs for the farm inhabitants.
