Description
We are seeking only international travellers, couples or singles, 23 yoa or older, with their own vehicle and some gardening or home maintaining experience to live in our spectacular home in the Byron Hinterland above Mullumbimby.
My usual hosting arrangement is to agree to a stay a couple of weeks in advance and if there is a good fit during your first week here we can discuss staying longer in person. If you want to stay longer, mention it in your initial email.
This is a luxurious, beautiful and comfortable home in Mullumbimby Creek. Our grounds have several different gardens, lawns, a budding fruit orchard with major natural bush areas completely surrounding us. It is a only couple of minutes drive from Mullumbimby, about 10 minutes by car to the beach and 20 minutes by bus into Central Byron Bay, traffic permitting!
You will need a vehicle to visit this marvellous but infrastructurally challenged part of this country but we do have a bicycle to loan, and a trampoline and a pool. There is a bus service from Mullumbimby to Byron and other local towns which runs every couple of hours.Types of help and learning opportunities

Travellers always find the peace and tranquillity in this mystical place a delight after the hustle and bustle of the road. Your host speaks excellent English and runs a lovely considerate home.
Mullumbimby was once a world famous music and cultural centre and still offers numerous health, spiritual and Yoga facilities.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
Remember when you first apply to mention;
a) If you are experienced in renovation work or gardening and eco projects.
b) whether you have transport and
c) your prefered length of stay.
We can agree initially by email that you stay for a week and if you fit in by being pleasant, engaged and meaningfully contribute, then I will invite you to stay longer in person.
At least a week prior to your arrival please reconfirm your intentions. If I don't hear from you and so ask you to confirm your plans then please answer promptly.
Communication is very important and will be conducted between us via this website until we have an arrangement in principal when we could switch to Whatsapp to discuss.Help
International travelers who are mature, 23 years of age and over with their own transportation and have a cheery, helpful and inquisitive disposition are the most suitable to live here in my home.
NOTE .. If you have developed skills in home renovation work, gardening or landscaping then please mention it in your initial email and especially
ALSO mention whether you have transport and what dates you can ideally be here.
Work is for 15 hours each week, 3 hours per day starting at 08.00 Monday to Friday in Summer.
Outdoor work includes landscaping, planting, weeding, watering, pruning, mowing and general yard maintenance. Other jobs there may include small landscaping projects, painting and preparation and sweeping/blowing and washing the car.
Indoor work includes kitchen duties, window, bathroom and wet area cleaning, washing, hanging and ironing, vacuuming and floor mopping. Small renovation projects including painting and deep cleaning.
We will discuss this regularly and always have a meeting on Monday Mornings.
I have a no smoking policy on the property.
Finally a cool plunge pool and outdoor shower are wonderful after work (I'm told).Languages spoken

Mullumbimby is a quaint NSW country town with a friendly and somewhat hippy vibe, situated 15km North of Byron Bay, 5km South of Brunswick Heads (rivalling Byron in every way) and the world famous Byron Hinterlands. You'll find a good range of cafes and restaurants tucked away in town, as well as organic groceries, an olympic-size swimming pool and all the services you would expect of a well-established classic country town.
Every Friday there is an Organic Farmers Market with great food, music and fresh organic local produce - this is located at the Showgrounds, only a 15 minutes walk away!
There are some great tourist attractions close by such as the Crystal Castle and a huge choice of local waterfalls and beaches and nature walks to visit.
Mullumbimby is extremely well located in Byron Shire for many of our internationally recognised festivals such as the Byron Bay Blues Fest, Splendour in the Grass (now discontinued), the Writers Festival, the Spirit Festival and, of course, the Mullumbimby Music Festival (now reinstated).A little more information
