Description
I'm Robert, I have a background in engineering and love travelling, languages & natural living.
I'm building an Eco-village in the beautiful Lebanon mountains within a larger tourist resort to allow visitors to live, learn, grow and build in a more ecologically sustainable way.
During 2024 we will be constructing a new strawbale building (Multi-function space - The Nest) using mainly local & natural or recycled materials and also maintaining our permaculture Garden. More details below...

You'll be helping alongside locals and other volunteers, learning Natural Building techniques and the Lebanese / Syrian culture and language.
Help
We want volunteers who have an interest in Natural Building. Who want to learn and physically help build with us. Previous experience is a bonus (carpentry, general construction, earth or stone works, sculpture).
Also... Anyone who has Social Media skills and wants to spend some a few hours a week making posts is welcome
SPECIFICALLY:
ECO CENTRE - straw bale / earth plaster walls, earth floor, windows / doors, bathroom + kitchenette, fittings and creative touches
GARDEN - Ongoing minor maintenance, Spring planting & harvesting
PICNIC AREA - Make pond, tables and benches, reed bamboo shade structures, beautifying
KITCHEN - Make wattle and daub structure for a small Vege kitchen / café preparing food for visitors. Also making preserves & processing aromatics and grapesLanguages

You'll stay in our Wooden 'glamping' tents (individual) or Big Blue Dormitory tent (if there's a lot of you) or (if you can bring one) in your own tent. Cooking and bathroom facilities are provided (along with a food allowance). There's WiFi.
MINIMUM STAY 2 WEEK, preferably 1 month or more
The site is on the side of a mountain in a beautiful part of Lebanon. The town of Zahle, with restaurants, shops and bars on one side, open nature and mountains to the other side.What else ...
Many opportunities to explore the country and culture. There are many ancient ruins within a 30 min drive (Baalbek, Niha, Anjar).
