    Description

Hi! I’m Milica — a creative educator and mum to Nina, my joyful, imaginative and energetic 5‑year‑old.

During the summer we live on the beautiful island of Korčula in Croatia, where we enjoy a slow, warm, seaside rhythm. Our days are simple and meaningful: we spend a lot of time by the sea, creative play at home, swimming trainings, walks, theatre, whatever interesting comes...
We love welcoming open‑minded, proactive kind people into our little family. If you genuinely enjoy being around children and have experience with preschoolers, you will feel at home with us. Nina is curious, expressive, and full of ideas — she loves drawing, singing, building, storytelling, and anything creative.

We’re looking for someone who is cheerful, responsible, and comfortable joining our family-style routine. If you are in some difficult life phase please consider some other type of workaway!!! Here is a child, she will learn from your beahaviour, so we insist on positive, organised atmosphere, and proactive people who like to get up early.

You’ll stay in a private apartment on a separate floor, giving you lots of personal space.

Smoking, alcohol and the use of any kind of drugs — light or heavy — are strictly forbidden.

When you are with Nina, we prefer that the phone is not used or kept nearby. We value real presence and connection, so when you spend time with her, we appreciate that you are truly with her — playing, talking, creating and being engaged.

Travellers will experience an authentic Mediterranean summer with us. We spend every summer on Korčula and know the local community very well — neighbours, families, winemakers, fishermen, and artists. You will naturally become part of this small, friendly world.

On Fridays we go to the traditional fishermen’s night, and throughout the summer we visit local cultural events, concerts, exhibitions and village celebrations. You are always welcome to join us, meet people, and enjoy the atmosphere.

The area is full of vineyards, olive groves and beautiful nature. The sea is everywhere — small beaches, hidden coves, crystal‑clear water. Travellers can learn about local traditions, island life, simple Mediterranean cooking, and the rhythm of a place where everyone knows each other.

If you enjoy nature, culture, and connecting with local people, this is a wonderful place to learn, relax and feel at home.

1.5h household help: making meals, washing dishes, tidying up, cleaning.

Creative time with Nina during day when we make schedule, one hour around 7-8pm .You’ll never be alone with Nina — I’m always nearby, just possibly working or resting.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

Our house was built by Nina’s grandfather in the 1970s and has always been used only by our family. It has a ground floor and an upper floor, surrounded by a large amount of open space and pure nature. The area is peaceful, the air is wonderful, and the view is truly beautiful — it feels like a small paradise.

Workawayers stay in the ground-floor apartment, which is completely separate from the upper floor where we live. This gives you plenty of privacy and your own quiet space.

The apartment is not new, but it is clean, comfortable and fully functional. It has a bedroom with a very large bed that can easily fit 2–3 people. There is a bathroom, a small storage area with a fridge, a small kitchenette, and a spacious terrace where you can relax and enjoy the surroundings.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Lumbarda is wonderful for walking, swimming and exploring the coastline — there are beautiful beaches and hidden spots all along the shore. The nature here is truly special, with vineyards, olive groves and peaceful paths everywhere.

The Old Town of Korčula is about 5 km away, around a 30‑minute walk, and there are also regular buses. The Old Town is full of history, culture, small streets, local shops and a unique atmosphere.

Another thing travellers really enjoy here is the food. Compared to what we usually eat in Vienna, the local produce, fresh fish, vegetables and simple Mediterranean dishes taste incredible. Even small family restaurants offer delicious meals made from local ingredients.

It’s a perfect place for anyone who loves nature, culture, good food and the relaxed rhythm of island life.
