    Description

Sudarshanaloka, ‘Land of beautiful vision’, is a Triratna Buddhist Retreat Centre located on the Coromandel peninsula in Aotearoa, New Zealand. It is situated on 80 hectares of rugged native forest where we maintain an off-grid eco facility. This is home to a small community of individually practising Buddhists who manage the Centre and land for group and solitary retreats.

We are only 10 minutes drive from the thriving rural town of Thames which is the gateway to the beautiful Coromandel Peninsula. Auckland is 1 1/2 hours drive away and local Waikato region attractions include Hobbiton, Waitomo Glow Worm Caves, Miranda Hot Pools and the Hauraki Rail Cycling Trails.

Your own means of transport is welcomed, however there are regular opportunities for a ride to the local town where all services are available.
