  • Description

Sudarshanaloka, ‘Land of beautiful vision’, is a Triratna Buddhist Retreat Centre located on the Coromandel peninsula in Aotearoa, New Zealand. It is situated on 80 hectares of rugged native forest where we maintain an off-grid eco facility. This is home to a small community of individually practising Buddhists who manage the Centre and land for group and solitary retreats.

The Work Retreat offers opportunity for daily meditation, Buddhist ritual and dharma discussions. We therefore prefer volunteers who are interested in exploring Buddhism or deepening an existing practice.

  • Help

Tasks needing to be done may include producing firewood, gardening, painting, cleaning, and trail maintenance. There may also be opportunities to assist with forest regeneration, construction projects, cabin maintanance and retreat food preparation.
