  • Description

    Description

    We are a 3 generations family that looks and works on building a paradise.... one balanced ecossistem.

    Our place is located near Mimosa, a little village in Alentejo, 50 km away from the beach (west coast), with a flat landscape and where temperatures can rise up to 40 degrees in summertime.
    The main local crops are olives, vine, maiz, tomato and wheat!

    The land has 3Ha and it's being worked for 10 years with the goal of soil and landscape regenerating.

    We are inspired by the knowledge of Permaculture, concerning Holisitic Management, Water Management and Swales, Food Forest and Familiar and Organic Agriculture.

    In the house our electrical and water system are off the grid. As we believe in self-suficiency, our energy is solar power bades and the water comes from a borehole. So, we have to be constantly aware about it's usage. We have a deep respect for both energy and water flows and cycles.

    We are a family with small children, so the dynamics should respect their needs for play and rest!

    The work we would like to share is our daily activities in the farm:
    outdoor – vegetable garden, animals
    indoor – bioconstruction, cooking, preserving food
    in and out – children and other works, eg. to collect manure

    Tasks are defined personaly and concerning your motivations. Times and location of tasks depend on the time of day, due to the heat in the summer and the day light in winter, to define if these will be perform inside or outside.

    We would prefer a maximum of 3 people each time and staying a minimum of 7 days.
    We have:
    - a tent for 2 persons, please ask if you need;

    - cold shower;

    - big tank that can be used as a swimming pool to cool down;

    - compost toilet;

    - material for building a chillout shadow for afterlunch rest;

    - the three main meals;

    We ask you to bring:
    - sleeping bag and mattress;

    - environmentally friendly higiene products;

    - your snacks and little things that make you feel confortable;

    We mainly consume local and self production items, so coffee it's not daily consumption here.
    If you smoke please do it only near the house.
    You can arrive any day till 8pm. There are buses that arrive 3 km from us – Rede Expressos – and we can pick you up!
    Please communicate your intentions at least two days before you're coming.

    You are welcome!

    Thank You.

    O fica no Alentejo, a 50 Km do Oceano (Costa Oeste), numa zona de planicie e onde no Verão a temperatura pode alcançar os 40 graus.
    As principais culturas desta região são o olival, a vinha, o milho, o tomate e o trigo!
    No nosso terreno, de 3 ha, há 10 anos que se trabalha a regeneração do solo e da paisagem. Para tal inspiramos-nos na Permacultura e os seus conhecimentos em Pastoreio Holístico, Paisagens de Retenção de Água, Floresta Comestível e Agricultura Familiar e Orgânica.

    A nossa casa tem sistema de luz e água fora da rede. A energia solar deve ser racionalizada. A água vem de um furo e deve ser respeitada – como qualquer água claro!

    Somos uma familia com crianças pequenas, por isso as dinâmicas devem respeitar as suas necessidades de brincadeira e de descanso!

    Os trabalhos a partilhar são os que compõem o dia a dia de uma quinta:
    exteriores – horta, animais
    interiores – construção, cozinha, conservas
    interiores e exteriores – crianças e outros trabalhos como por exemplo ir buscar estrume.
    As tarefas são definidas pessoalmente e conforme as tuas motivações. Os horários e o local das tarefas dependem da hora do dia, devido ao calor no Verão e á luz do dia no Inverno, para que seja defenido se estas se vão realizar no interior ou no exterior.

    Podemos receber um máximo de 3 pessoas de cada vez e por um período mínimo de 7 dias.
    Para quem vem nós dispomos:
    - de uma tenda para duas pessoas;

    - duche frio;

    - tanque que faz de piscina para refrescar;

    - wc seco;

    - material para criar um espaço chillout de sombra para o descanso pós almoço;

    - as três principais refeições;

    Para que vem agradecemos que tragam:
    bolachinhas e miminhos que vos façam sentir confortáveis;

    saco cama e colchonete;

    material de higiene amigo do ambiente;

    Nós consumimos maioritariamente produtos locais ou de produção própria, por isso café é produto raro cá em casa.
    Se fumam por favor utilizem apenas o espaço em volta da casa para fumar!
    Podem chegar em qualquer dia até às 20h. Há camionetas da Rede Expressos que chegam a 3 km do Monte, e nós podemos ir-vos buscar.
    Comuniquem connosco com um mínimo de 2 dias de antecedência a vossa intenção de virem passar cá uma temporada.

    Sejam bem vindis!
    Bem haja...
