Kali is a keen talker and world traveller, he is spirited and engaging, with diverse experience from his journeying through life so far, travelling for 11 years abroad, working successfully in the music, construction, hospitality, journalist, sustainabilty, natural construction, socio-democratic-consensus models, education, tourism, outward bound, expedition, performance,TV and Film, and retail industires, at home and across many continents.

With a keen interest in many hobbies...... Rock-climbing, philosophy, music performance/creation/recording, expedition, motorbike riding, bush walking, mountain climbing, cooking, parenting, gardening, landscaping, architecture, tech savy.....

    - Bushwalking: There are numerous easy and more difficult walks all around the property, mostly to visit the creeks, tributaries and waterfalls that we have here.
    - Water: Water is our most abundant resource, rain, springs, creeks, rivers, waterfalls, jacuzzis, rock pools, hydro-turbine power system!
    - Bio-Diversity: There is an incredible diversity of flora and fauna to see, breathe and experience in one of the densest tropical jungles in the world..... your adventurous spirit is your limit....
    - 'Passive Solar', natural construction and architectural design: Kali has spent years studying and working within the natural building and sustainable building design arena. Some elements are on display already at 'The Roundhouse', with more in development.
-There is a music room currently set-up in the main house, with a full live-band, performance and recording studio rig ready to go. Lets share music!
    - We have created a bouldering and climbing area, undercover, for us all to keep our climbing bug alive, rain, hail or shine.

Beyond the property is the magnificent Atherton Tablelands to explore with many attractions including geological and other natural wonders to behold. We like to take our guests on day trips around the Tablelands to see our special places on days off together. Staying with us you will also learn about sustainable and environmentally conscious ways of living in the world. While we are not yet fully independent of fossil fuel resources, we aim to become more and more independent as our years here progress. We love music, art and food and enjoy sharing our life experiences and travels of the world with like-minded people.

We have many projects and maintenance to do in this jungle abode, with forest so abundant and prosperous, it never stops! Including renovations and gardening, general development of the existing infrastructrue, beautifying the grounds.....

    - veggie gardening, mozaics, general gardens, light interior renovation tasks, light exterior renovation tasks,
    - assisting Kali do a million little jobs all over the property..... as a trade professional with big dreams, helping him with your second set of hands, making progress on various projects across the property, is often the most useful support any visitor can be!
    - maintaining paths throughout the block, finding new ones, creating more zones and areas for campers/visiter/guests/volunteers...... access to the numerous creeks and waterfalls is under constant upkeep.
    - water supply through a reticulated gravity setup, from a higher altitude spring and river, gives us Micro-Hydro Turbine Power, which entails periodic routines to maintain its performance, as well as providing us with endless electricity, this setup also services us with endless supplies of household water fro drinking and gardens etc.
    - there really is so much if you're keen, that listing the opportunities with us here is almost impossible!!
    - if you have particular skills and virtues you'd like to share with us, please let us know and we can incorporate your skillset into our planning.

Our home is set on a 260 acre piece of privately owned land, bordering 'Wet Tropic World Heritage Rainforest'. A deliberate extension of the 'Wooroonooran National Park'. We live on a shared property with five separate homes, one of which is ours known as "The Roundhouse".

Our mission is to restore this tropical gem to its former glory as an inspiring and quirky off-grid family home, but we need help! Jobs and projects include a variety of tasks that are mostly determined by the weather and the availability of help. Other tasks to do with living off-grid such as bush-mechanics, bush-walking, bush-maintenance, drainage maintenance, water supply management etc. as well as general landscaping and maintenace.....

We are usually able to tailor the tasks to your interests and skill set. Experience in these area's will be highly appreciated but not necessary.
All we ask is that an authentic effort is given to all tasks in exchange for your experience of living and playing in this tropical paradise.

We are generous people who believe in the mutual exchange that comes with living in groups.

    - We have excellent internet access provided by a 'Starlink' connection. - We currently have 3 chickens, that provide us with fresh eggs, and are in the process of finding a dog.... There are so many animals in the bio-diversity around us, that keeping pets is less important than protecting the native wildfife around us. Cassowaries, bandicoots, snakes, lizards, birds, platypus, ground hens, possums, turtles..... there is an abundance of wildlife here! - We accept smokers, and ask that there is no smoking inside the residence, but there are outdoor areas suitable for combustibles. - We are open to couple and families, depending on how many of you there are! There is space, and we have many areas for children to enjoy the gameplay our daughter Beatrix does.

Whilst we will accept well trained, wildlife friendly pets, the protection of the abundant bio-diversity is paramount, and must be considered if you are thinking to bring your own pets to the property.
