Our Festival is Sweden's largest free festival. For two days, live music, performance, food and other delights are served in the scenic Nordanå area in Skellefteå. As always, the festival offers both small and big artists, national and local, something for everyone.
From starting as a local affair, the festival has grown into a great cross-cultural event in the region and throughout the country. Everything based and built on the city's youth and its commitment to music and culture.
DIY and building projects
This festival is mostly run by volunteers. The goal is to have a great time all together and to enjoy a great moment of music and arts in the North of Sweden. If you are into music you will be surrounded by lots of Swedish artists in one of the most beautiful parts of the country. It is also the opportunity for you to discover what is involved in creating and coordinating a large festival and learn plenty of skills that could be useful in the future.
Do you want to be part to one of the best music and cultural festivals in Sweden?
This festival is situated in Skellefteå, in the north of Sweden. For 28 years the festival has been organised by dedicated volunteers. This year the festival will happen on the 19th, 20th and 21st of August and there will be plenty of preparation beforehand.
We are always looking for committed volunteers who are ready to be part of the big machine that is the festival. We need everything from artist hosts to those who want to help build stages, tents, rig equipment and generally make sure everything is flowing nicely, We need people between the 14th and the 21st of July. Here is a list of the different positions at the festival:
- Construction (stage, tent, etc...)
- Artist hosting
- Catering (for the volunteers and the artists, not to sell)
- Stage assistant
- Information tent
- Coordination team
As a volunteer you get food, fika and accommodation at one of the volunteer place. The volunteers have access to a free lunch at a local restaurant during the festival. For the volunteers who want to arrive before the festival we will make sure that you'll be hosted by friendly Swedes who will take care that you never run out of Fika. We look mostly for people between the 14th and the 21st of July.
It's the opportunity for volunteers who are not from Skellefteå or Sweden to discover a unique area. The city is surrounded by nature, not far from the sea. Lots of lakes to swim in, many lovely places for a yummy barbecue or to try the classic "fika" or the famous "surströmming" (for the brave). The festival is in the middle of July so you will experience the midnight sun!
