    Description

Help needed the whole month of april / Suche Unterstützung für den gesamten April !

Hi! I am Thomas, emigrated from Austria to Lapland in 2015. In 2019 I moved to my dream place. Here I live with my 19 sled dogs - Scandinavian hounds - on a 1ha property in the middle of nature. The longer you can stay the better.

My dogs are my hobby, I have 17 racing dogs and 2 retired. My dogs are the most important thing and everyone who comes here should love dogs!
Information about winter and autumn you find further bellow.

    Summer (May-August)

    Tasks and Daily Routine:

Life here is quite simple in the summer. The dogs aren't trained in the high temperatures, so you have a relatively large amount of free time. Your most important task is spending time with the dogs.

In the mornings, they go out for a long walk to get plenty of exercise and have their first meal. They love running in the grass, lying in the sun, cooling off in the small dog pools, and cuddling with you.

Depending on the temperature, they go out again in the late afternoon or evening for more exercise, after which they get their second and last meal and another good cuddle.

In between, there's time for small tasks such as mowing the lawn, minor maintenance like repairing fences, tending to the vegetable garden, or whatever else needs doing.

    Free Time:
You have plenty of free time for the rest of the day. You can go for walks in the woods, pick blueberries and mushrooms, swim or canoe in the nearby lake, or relax in the garden. The two old house dogs are always happy to join you in the garden or on short walks.

I am living alone in the house. You have your own room upstairs with a private bathroom and kitchenette. We will share the rest of the house, including the large eat-in kitchen, living room, conservatory, etc. This also means we take turns cooking and sharing the household chores.
I live a vegan lifestyle, so it would be great if you were either vegan yourself or open to eating that way for the duration of your stay.

When I have time, we can also go to the river, have a bonfire, go to the sauna, make Yoga or Music together or do other fun things!

It's important that you can easily spend time with yourself, nature, and the dogs. I work full-time, so you'll often be alone during the day. And since I live right in the woods, you should be comfortable spending time outdoors and with the dogs. Cinemas, restaurants, etc. are quite far away and therefore not easily accessible.

    --------

Autumn and Winter (September - April)

    Tasks and Daily Routine:

In autumn and winter, I train the dogs several times a week. This means that, just like in summer, you'll let the dogs out and feed them in the morning, then help me with training preparations, and afterwards feed and cuddle the dogs again. So pretty much the same as in summer, just at more specific times.

In between, most things depend on the weather. If it snows, snow needs to be shoveled and the house needs to be heated. For that, wood needs to be brought in and a fire kept going.

    Free time:

Winter here in the north is magical. Sparkling snow, the Northern Lights, and thousands of stars. You can explore the winter wonderland forest on snowshoes, marvel at the Northern Lights in the sauna, sit around a campfire and eat icicles ;) and much more.

Strictly non smoker! You can not bring your own dogs.
