    Description

I am starting an exciting project renovating a 250 year old Georgian house. It is a listed heritage building surrounded by parklands. During the months of June July August we hope to get a lot of work done. The work includes helping more experienced tradesmen, so you can learn a lot of new skills. I always want people to enjoy there work and the sociable side of the project, meeting new people. If you wish to work extra hours then I am happy to pay the official rate.

I am also farming in the green fields of Ireland, 1 hour from Dublin and 20 Minutes from Tullamore town. We live in a large farm house with extensive gardens and many trees. We have 3 children (aged 8 to 13 years) one dog, hens, 3 ponies, and a big garden surrounded by fields and forestry as far as the eye can see.

Our work environment is always friendly and brings out the best in all of the team. My parents originally came from Germany, so we can speak German or English giving an interesting cultural experience.

During the covid pandemic I converted a barn into a 3 bedroom luxury home. This new and spacious accommodation will be your home if you stay with us. It includes 3 bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom and a large living room.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Our home and family is bi-lingual (German & English). Many years ago I thought students at university, so I always have an intertest at passing on knowledge, especially about traditional building skills, trees and farming. I am a great believer in learning by doing...

The old Georgian house (5km from our home) where I am renovating the buildings and gardens is a very special place. The collection of big old veteran trees and architecture inspire a love for the culture of that period.

It would be good if you have a drivers licence or even better a car. At our house you are in the middle of green fields as far as the eye can see, with no public transport.

Your accommodation is luxurious because we converted our old barn into a wonderful new home with 3 bedrooms, big living room, kitchen, underfloor heating, 2 bathrooms etc.

    What else ...

We live in the middle of Ireland, one hour west of Dublin, so it is a good starting point for traveling to the west coast or Dublin.

We also have many more local tourist attractions and are very experienced in planning weekend trips for visiting family and friends.

Our local shopping town of Tullamore is only 20 minutes away and has everything including several shopping centres, cinema, many pubs and good restaurants.

If you appreciate the peaceful quiet of country living, then outside our front door the only sound is the wind and birds all week and you have a view of only fields and trees as far as the horizon in all directions.
