Madeline was a keen worker and great company. She happily joined in with all activities. Would happily host her again.

I spent two lovely weeks with Jenny and her animals in a hilly paradise in Thorpe. Jenny has such a vibrant and tenacious personality - there’s never a dull moment with her. At the same time, she’s also really sensitive and thoughtful. Knowing that I love Asian cuisine, Jenny always made sure I had my rice/noodles even when she didn’t eat them.
… read more Once she even cooked a Singaporean dish (Laksa) for me 😭 On my free day, Jenny brought me to go tramping at Mount Arthur! Another day after work, we went out to get ice cream! Her animals can be mischievous but are so lovable.
For work, we spent most of the time harvesting and processing fruits. I was also tasked with feeding the chickens in the morning and evening. Other times, I helped with some weeding in the garden. I was expected to work 5 hrs a day on average, but in reality Jenny gave me less work than that, and the work was never difficult.
As for accommodation, I was greeted by golden hills every morning and starry skies every night. It really can’t get better than this. I’m embarrassed to admit it, but as a city girl, I had some issues with the outdoor composting toilet. Jenny, very kindly and without any judgement, came up with a few solutions to make sure I was comfortable living there.
I am really thankful to Jenny for her kindness and generosity and I will always look back at my memories in Thorpe with fondness!!! Hope to see you again, Jenny!!This workawayer has chosen to keep their profile private, but can be contacted regarding this feedback by other workawayers.
