Description
Hello! We're Rik, Henrietta and Joy. We have an off-grid property in Arrábida Natural Park with our dog and 2 cats.
We're co-creating a regenerative farm to slow down in nature and grow together. A space to play, learn, create and eat delicious food with new friends.
The project has evolved over the last 7 years, starting as land practicing mainly permaculture, to hosting events and retreats of art and music, to our permanent home with our baby the past three years, in which hosting took a pause. Now with a comfortable yurt with heating and hot water, solar power, a caravan, mature fruit trees, vegetable gardens with raised beds, paths, a pool, a forest growing...it's better than ever. We are so proud! And ready for the next phase.
We have now outgrown the yurt as a family, and moved to the nearby town. We are looking for people to live on the property longer term (until April 2026) To keep up maintenance and the cats company, with maybe some dog sitting too. Over the next few months we are getting the space ready for our wedding in May, and to later be used as an ongoing event space to be enjoyed by many :)
Rik is English and now works full-time as a freelance consultant. He's also a relentless optimist, insurgent pharmacist and disco dancing DJ. Hen is Swedish and works as a massage therapist. She's also a designer, empathic leader and all-around hostess with the mostest. Joy is 2.5 years old and enjoys harvesting fruits, hugging the pets, running and laughing.
Due to our recent lifestyle changes, work, and childcare, we are looking for people who will stay at the property more independently. We will visit a couple of times a week, and there will be people coming to do some work there too. There won't be much work to do, just keeping the place in check and providing extra helping hands now and then. This is ideal for someone who maybe has other work to do, but would benefit from free accommodation and enjoying the space, with some jobs like weeding and tidying for around 1 hour a day. You would benefit from having a car as we won't be providing food and shopping for you, but it's possible to walk to the bus (25min) and get a taxi if needed.
Our land is situated amidst stunning hills, forests and beaches. A natural paradise just 45 min south of Lisbon. The farm is a space for people to slow down and connect; with nature, with others and with themselves. Our purpose is to live sustainably and support people's well-being and creativity.
We practice small-scale regenerative farming for enjoyment, learning and personal consumption.
We’re creating this space because we need it - to live a slower, more sustainable and balanced life. And we want to share it. So we invite you, current and future friends, to come to enjoy our farm and be part of the project. You can help make it happen.
This will be your home in Portugal to learn, have fun, go hiking, biking, SUPing, paragliding, swimming, yoga, dancing, chill…
Come and play.
See you soon.

You will live in the Yurt most of the time, if we have family visiting then we might need you to stay in the caravan (has heating and cooking facilities too)
What else ...
Step out of the farm and straight onto trails into the forest with streams, a natural spring, a lake, mountain and cliffs. Walk, cycle or take the bus (25min walk from the farm) to get to Praia da Arrabida, Azeitao, Setubal or even the popular seaside town of Sesimbra.

It was amazing! They are a very lovely and chill couple. We've been there after a very intense Erasmus month, so it was so nice to chill out a bit at the farm.
