This is a project from the family of Experiencias México where we are looking forward to promote mexican cultural experiences that will bring holistic benefits to the participant. We create and facilitate practices from ancestral traditions to share the wisdom of our humanity.
Our main project is located on the Sacred Mexican Island, Cozumel. This Mayan land has being part of a spiritual and energtic work since the 1st millennium AD, and older Preclassic Olmec artifacts have been found on the island as well. The island was sacred to Ix Chel, the Maya Moon Goddess, Goddess of love, medicine and the temples here were a place of pilgrimage, especially by women desiring fertility. There are a number of ruins on the island, most from the Post-Classic period. Today, the largest remaining ruins are at San Gervasio, located approximately at the center of the island. this used to be part of this Mayan pilgrimage to the Island, because of the location and the water hole in the place it was perfect for them to use it a a rest spot to cointinue to the other side of the island from main land.
We are looking forward to promote this cultural project between our community and the fellow visitors that come to the island. Because the island principal atractive we have desing an alternative wellness tourism project in wich tourists will be able to live experiences that will bring them more than just a good time on the island.
Not only a place but an encounter with oneself.
Not only an experience but an opening of the heart.
Not only an adventure but a journey into the soul.
Each of our practices has been thought and created to guide YOU towards these three purposes. All of them are taken from ancestral traditions, mostly from Mexico, but we also study, practice and offer wellness techniques from different parts of the world. We invite you to surround yourself with the beauty of nature and let your soul be pampered by reconnecting and bonding into one with mother earth.
About US, the family. We are a group of women and men that has come together thanks to life experiences and the dream of this project. Some of us are in the island and others are working from other parts of México to coordinate other experiences to promote and rescue ancestral practices and traditional medicine.
This is a list of the activities that we do in our daily bases and that you can get involved. Also we have every new moon (women circles) and full moon special Temazcal experiences for local people at the island. We faciliate, host and support yoga retreats and ceremonies as well. The project will be taken to the schools in the community so if you enjiy children you may have the chance to work with them.
An encounter with yourself thorough nature and inner peace. While exploring the ample paths of the jungle, you will be guided into a walking meditation, also known as mindful walking. This practice will help you restore your inner balance and wellness by bringing you closer to nature, to your body and to your senses
Refresh yourself with a cool plunge into a real and authentic mayan cenote. Merge yourself into the amber colored water from which this place takes it’s name. Let the water wash away all your worries and troubles as the ancient mayas did, bathing themselves to send all evil to the underworld.
Heal yourself inside our prehispanic house of heat and steam. Temazcal baths were and still are an important part of traditional medicine for indigenous cultures. By sweating and realeasing toxins and ill feelings, you too can cure your physicall and emotional ailments by deep cleansing your body, mind and soul. Your temazcalero will perform an authentic ceremony that will guide you into rebirth and revival by understanding and connecting with mother nature, also known as Pachamama.
