This is a description of our farm. We live on an organic farm with milking goats, horses, sheep, and hens. We grow our own vegetables, make cheese, and have fresh eggs and milk too. We are also vegetarian and can accomodate two people in a comfortable sleep out and are close to the Abel Tasman National Park. The farm is quite isolated, so we would prefer our helpers had their own transport, but that's not essential, but what is essential is a sense of humour! The farm includes a 400 tree olive grove and we pick and press our own olives in June/july. We are setting aside part of the farm for growing native trees, and always have varied projects on the go. We are quite new on this site but have been hosting on other sites for the last 19 years. Non smokers only.

Help with Eco project
Cheese making, pressing olives, fencing, pruning, gardening, organic principles, this is what we are about and can teach you.
Plenty to explore in this area especially if you have transport. Abel Tasman national park, Mount Arthur, beaches, river, hiking.
Picking Olives in June/July by hand on sunny days with wonderful views of the mountains. Varied animal husbandry tasks like feeding the goats, sheep and horses hay, and cleaning out their sheds. Vegetable gardening, which includes weeding and planting out. Wood chopping for those able and small building projects, plus hay making in the summer.
English, French, Italian, Maori
Comfortable self contained sleep out. As we are vegetarians, we expect our helpers to respect that, and not to bring any meat onto the farm.
We will supply cereal and toast for breakfast, plus fresh milk, which volunteers will prepare themselves in the sleep out. All other meals will be with us, though help with preparation and clearing up would be appreciated. The photos are of the sleep out.
