Description
We’re a young married couple, Faris (29) from Mostar and Megan (25) from Ireland. We live in a lovely little village called Blagaj, just 10 km from the heart of Mostar, right by the beautiful Buna River.
Joining us in our home are our two playful dogs – Miki, a Belgian Malinois, and Bailey, a sweet Labrador mix – as well as a few friendly cats.
Our home is a charming two-story house right on the water, surrounded by nature. We live upstairs in our cozy apartment, and downstairs, we have a spacious, open-plan studio apartment that can host up to 4 guests.
We’re lucky to have a bus stop just a 3-minute walk from our house, with buses running every 30 minutes into the city. We also drive to Mostar every day, so depending on our schedule, we’d be happy to offer you a lift! There’s a small shop just 5 minutes away that has all the essentials you might need. And if you’re looking to explore, the beautiful Blagaj Tekija is only a 15-minute walk from us!
A little about us: We met in Mostar back in 2022 and have been living together here ever since! Back in Ireland, Megan spent a lot of time training Connemara ponies, but she eventually decided to leave that behind to travel. Little did I know, my adventures would lead me to Faris, and we’d end up building a life together! Faris spent 5 years working in the Army, but alongside that, he’d take on seasonal work in the old town of Mostar. Two years ago, he made the decision to leave the Army, giving us both more freedom to travel and explore together! -

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Our main goal is to meet like-minded people and share our culture with them. In exchange for a bit of help around the property – things like gardening, lawn mowing, tree trimming, or painting – we offer free accommodation and one homemade meal a day. We’d love to welcome you to our peaceful corner of the world!
We will try and cook 1 home-made traditional dish where workawayers will be able to taste Bosnian cuisine and well provide with traditional bosnian coffee, while talking about our culture -
Help
help outdoors around the property – things like watering the flowers and picking the weeds.

No task was ever too much for them. In fact, if they finished something or weren’t given specific instructions, they would simply find another job to do! Whether it was weeding, repairing dog … read more
They went above and beyond with every task, and if something was new to them, they picked it up with ease and a great attitude.
Anyone would be lucky to have the chance to host them!
Wishing you both all the very best! … read more
