Pauline is a lovely girl, excellent English and polite. She shared about her other workaway experiences. Great painting and great with the dogs. I hope that she will come back again.

Kevin was very helpful and did everything I asked him. He did a great job and I would have him again. My two dogs really liked him.

I stayed at Vera and Michaels for three weeks and from the first day I felt welcomed and comfortable within their home.
They are very big hearted people, who’ve raised a great family, all smart, warm and caring. By the end of my stay I really felt sad to be leaving them but I know I’ll be seeing them again
Vera filled me with alllllll the
… read more guidance and advice while Michael is an absolute well of knowledge who taught me so much about Irish history and human resilience.
Every day I was given a variety of different jobs to do so it was always interesting and satisfying work. Cleaning out presses, folding clothes, making fires, cleaning windows, sorting out books from rubbish and for the first time, I appreciated the invention of the vacuum (I’m sure Michael will be able to tell you who that was..an Irishman no doubt)
I enjoyed the fact that Vera and Michael trusted me to use my initiative and do the tasks my own way, allowing me to feel more responsible for the homes keep.
On the weekends Vera dropped me off at the train or bus station so I could go explore the incredible surrounding areas and on Thursday nights there’s a traditional Irish band that play in the town of Athy, I highly recommend it.
Really really loved my time here, it was my first work away experience and so far it’s my favourite..You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

I had a great time at Vera and Michael's house, they are fun people with lots of interesting stories to share and also curious about other cultures and languages! It was a pleasure to help them, I wish you the best!

This has been my first "workaway" ever. Even though I can't compare it to another experience, I enjoyed my stay at Vera & Michael's house.
I spent 23 days there, working in the morning and sometimes in the afternoon as well. The job was basically feeding the cattle and cleaning the house, which was easy but never ending. Every day I had

On the weekdays they usually drive to the towns of Athy and Carlow, which are small but have everything you need: a supermarket, pubs with not so expensive beer; especially good on Thursday night in Athy, and some historic buildings. On the weekends I had the chance to travel around Ireland with the Irish rail, which was great because of the lack of things I could do at home, since it's in the countryside.
I also had the chance to meet Vera and Michael's family, they were great; we shared lovely conversations, especially with Sarah!
If you don't mind working hard in exchange for accommodation for a couple of weeks, this might be the place for you, traveller.
Slàinte mhath!
