Hi there! My name is Saskia, and my husband is Arne. I’m originally from Estonia and Arne is from Germany. We’re a busy household with our 18 month old son, Johannes and our 6 year old German Shepherd, Pippo.

We’ve lived in Andorra for a year now and just bought a house that we’re getting ready to renovate. It’s got 80s/90s vibe—so nothing fancy! The house is quite spacious, so you’ll have plenty of privacy with your own floor if you’d like.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Living in a microstate is a unique cultural experience. You’ll learn the "Catalan way of life," from the local language to the mountain routine.
Either we’re heading to a local village festival, a weekend hike or will do a daytrip outside the country you’re always invited to join the crew.
You’ll gain a perspective on how it is to live in a small, mountain-locked community.
We view hosting as a two-way street. While we hope to share our knowledge of Andorra and our specific projects with you, we are equally excited to learn from you. Whether it’s a recipe from your home country, a different way of approaching a problem, or simply hearing about your travels, your background enriches our home.
Our son understands and speaks Russian. Me and my husband don't. So if You speak Russian then it's an ideal way to communicate to our son and also keep his knowledge of the language fresh.

1-2 days per week 5h per day cleaning or work in the garden.
3-4 days per week 5h per day watching the 2 year old, Johannes.
Our place is quite big and my husband travels a lot so I’m mainly looking for someone to help me with our son Johannes and keep our house clean. But most importantly, we want someone who feels like part of the family!

    Plus points if you:

Are outdoorsy and love nature (because nature is Andorra’s specialty)

Have experience with toddlers or have a child of your own.

    Accommodation

You’ll have your own room and bathroom.

If our dining times are the same then i would like to eat all together.

We provide three meals a day. Once you'll get here we'll see how our daily rythm aligns and what meals we eat together and what meals we eat seperately.

We eat quite a lot of meat, but we're not carnivores. Also i have histamine intolerance so i don't eat foods high in histamine. But most likely there will be a second workaway person staying here as well, so we always have a wide variety of foods.
I'm doing 2-3 day water only fast, once a month. You're free to do whatever you like and eat whatever you like during this period.

❗️ We don’t have wifi. Happy to pay for your esim.
❗️We don't have a washing machine, but we can take our laundry to our "city home" 30min drive away or to laundromat 15min drive away.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

During your free time your options are:
    - hiking (trails start right behind our house)
    - we can drive somewhere in Andorra
    - if you’re a good driver and we have a trust between us then you can borrow the car.
    - Public transportation runs 3 times a day down to the bigger city (Sant Julia de Loria). And 3 times up the hill. 12min drive but very steep. And from Sant Julia there are a lot of bus lines connecting to other cities.
-getting out to explore the country can be a bit difficult without a car, but i'm sure we'll find a consensus.
