    Description

We are a couple in our 50's that soon 10 years ago bought our farm. Before this we were renting a farm for almost 10 years. A lot happened during the first years and more is to happen. And some tasks are annually.

We are restoring land from forest to padock enclosures for horses and sheep. The work has started but there is always more to do. A new enclosure to clear or put fences for.

If you like to participate in helping on a small farm with horses, sheep ,chicken and cats this is your place. The work on the farm is to help with all kind of tasks animals needs and helping with the kitchen garden. House work is a collaboration thing.

If you are interested in old architecture and old ways to do things we are happy to meet you. We enjoy inspiring people that are interested in the farm life and people who like to enjoy the nature and surroundings here. To be able to work on the farm you need to be physical ok because most wok is requiring some muscles eg carrying hay and water, put fences, carry fire wood, clear weed.... But you will also get close to the nature and animals. Nothing is better than sitting on a stone listening to a chewing sheep or horse.

The area we live in is a very old place where people have been living and travelled at for a very long time. We have ancient remains on our land and the house we are living in was probably originally build in the 16th century. Both of us are very fond of old techniques, like how to build a wood house or how to take care of the wool of the sheep. So if you have a passion to do traditional work you are more than welcome to give suggestions on your preferences.

We mainly work on the farm on our "spare time" due to that we also work on our full time work (IT-technician and Horse Farrier) so there will be some times where you need to work on your own. This also mean that we mainly work weekends and days off is preferred during week days. Hours are normally not scheduled, the tasks varies from day to day and depending on seasons.

We do not have any commercial tasks and have no paying guests to serve. You will do the work we are doing and usually we try to fit the activities with your interest, even though we need a helping hand with some tasks which are prioritised, eg if it's fencing season this is what we do and appreciate extra hands for.

Just outside we have a lake where we swim and bath in the summer evenings.

    Hope to see you!

Swedish traditions on farming and cultural events. Gardening. Old techniques for building and take care of products from the farm.

Bus is passing a few times a day. The nearest city Kungsbacka is about 30 min away by car. About 45 min to Gothenburg. Driving licens is beneficial and if possible own car should be brought. Hiking in the forest. Swimming. Fishing. Hunting depending on season.

    Help

Put up fences, clear ground from wood, take care of animals and maintenance in the kitchen garden (which provide food to the family) would be the main priorities. But other things happening on the farm during the year would also provide your help, like harvest of hay, clear paddocks, put up fences, help feeding the animals.

    The chickens

The chickens give us eggs but also are good gardeners. Sometimes little to good so we have to protect our veggies. But they eat pest as snails and bugs. Turn the soil to make it good.

    The sheep

All animals on the farm are to be treated with respect and this also include the sheep. We handle them with care.
They are helping to restore the land, fertilize it and make it great again.

Our cat came to us a cold winter. He was hiding in the barn. We found the owner but the owner was not so interested in Morris so he stayed with us.
He is a good hunter and help us to keep to reduce number of mice and rats. But he also like to be indoor laying on the sofa

Lakrits is our neighbors cat who visit us frequently.
