    Description

We live on a cattle station 445km west of Brisbane, 300km west of Toowoomba, near a town called Glenmorgan. Our property is 27,000 acres and currently it is only Ben and myself who run it. We run cattle, a few sheep and have horses.
Our family consists of Ben, Bindy (parents) Olivia, Sally and James (our 3 great kids). Olivia, and Sally have left school and James is away at Boarding School. Olivia is 19 and is studying Uni full-time at home, Sally is 17, and is about to head up to the Gulf to work on a cattle station and James is 16, and is at Boarding School in Toowoomba. I nearly forgot, we have 2 adorable labradors called Teddy and Ruby who will follow you around everywhere so you never feel alone.

Ben had an accident a couple of weeks ago and broke his femur (thigh bone). I am finding it hard to do housework and run the property so I need a little help for about 2 weeks. It is mainly cleaning in return for board and keep. It would only be for approx 3 hours each day just so I can get on top of everything again. The rest of the time you can spend chilling out and enjoying the serenity or maybe do some cooking if that's what you enjoy! You are also very welcome to join me to check cattle and troughs, it will be up to you.

We have been so lucky in the past to have had some amazing people help us from Finland, Germany, Canada and France Through this we have made some lifelong friendships which is very important to us. We believe we are good honest country people so honesty and integrity are qualities that we are looking for in a workawayer because you become a part of our family while you are helping us.

So if you would like to join our family for a couple of weeks then we would love to have you. Please reply via email with a little background on yourself and I will endeavour to get back to you as soon as I can. I don't have a great reputation for replying promptly so I will try to be better at that so please don't let that deter you!

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

My husband is a typical Aussie country bloke so if you want to experience what it is like to work and live on a Queensland cattle station then this is the place for you. Ben and I also enjoy learning about your country and traditions as we have never traveled overseas and we would like to try it in the future. We may even come to your country and catch up one day!

Cooking - Help with dinner. We would like you to eat with us so we all help each other
Help around the House - Clean windows, wash the house cobweb
Property help - This will depend on experience and what we have on.
Initially we will give you a week to 10 days, if you like it here and we are all having fun then you are welcome to stay longer. We don't ever want you to feel that you are stuck here if you don't like it.

    What else ...

We would like people to respect our home and the caravan which we allow you to stay in. We can discuss travel arrangements upon application if you don't have a vehicle and are happy to pay for a return bus fare for the suitable applicant. We prefer non smokers and no vegans, we live 130 km from the nearest town and it is too difficult to accommodate the vegan diet.
