Description
We are Radka (local), Davide (from Imola near Bologna, Italy) and our one-year-old daughter Magdalena (Magda for friends). We're a young Czech-Italian family looking for an Italian-speaking companion. We'd love to teach our daughter her father's native language, Italian. Any other help around the house would be much appreciated.
We live in the forested hills near Zábřeh, easily accessible by train. The nearby Jeseníky mountains offer plenty of opportunities for seasonal outdoor activities.Types of help and learning opportunities

Nearby villages often host social and cultural events: food street markets, English-language movies at the cinema, town festivals, concerts, and outdoor activity competitions. Inexpensive swimming pools and saunas are popular. We also love playing laser game.
Zabřeh na Moravě train station is 10 minutes from home, and from there you have the freedom to travel to nature reserves or other cities and capitals (half an hour to Olomouc, for instance, and 2 hours to Prague and Brno).
Winter here is relatively cold, with January being the coldest month, when the nearby pond freezes over and becomes an ice rink. The ski slopes are 50 minutes away by train or car. There are lovely xmas markets in December.
During the shoulder seasons and in summer, you can enjoy all kinds of outdoor activities. Davide enjoys mountain biking and orienteering. You can go rollerblading, hiking, canoeing, mushroom picking or fishing – there are lots of opportunities in the area.
Davide plays the guitar. If you play an instrument or sing, let us know, we could have jam sessions together!Projects involving children

Help
The most important task will be to spend time with our daughter, Magda, and speak Italian to her so that she can at least get used to hearing the language (approximately 1–2 hours per day, 4–5 days per week). It doesn't need to be advanced, but intermediate knowledge of the Italian language is mandatory. All Italian speakers are welcome, regardless of nationality, age or gender.
Magda loves music, books and animals, and she can already walk and imitate the sounds of some farm animals. She is used to meeting new people, but she might need time to adjust to having a new caretaker. We will be around if you need any help. If you get on well, you could spend some time together without us... It would be great if you could babysit one day!
You could then help out with some general household chores according to your skills, such as teaching us Italian or other languages, doing the washing and hanging it out to dry, vacuming and mopping the floor, cooking, washing the dishes, mowing the lawn, pruning the hedge, collecting fruit and vegetables, chopping wood, cleaning up the attic and doing building work.
For all tasks, you can either work with us or independently, as you prefer.Languages

Our daughter needs to be exposed to the Italian language. If you are available to help out, Davide is a beginner French learner, while Radka is already at an intermediate-advanced level of Italian. Radka's parents are also learning some basic Italian.Accommodation
You'll have your own bedroom and share the rest of the second floor of the house with us. Radka's family is close-knit and welcoming. You'll probably get to know some of her relatives, as we live on the second floor of her parents' family home. They're friendly and they enjoy sharing well-known Czech beers and spirits, as well as stories and experiences.
We will provide food. Davide is celiac (gluten-free). Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements.
We can lend you a bike to move around. What else ...
We met in Malta in the summer of 2017 thanks to Workaway! We contacted the same host family and worked as part of the same team. Who would have thought that it would end up like this? Since then, we have travelled a lot using Workaway. Now, we would like to join the community as hosts.
We look forward to meeting you and hearing about your travels!A little more information
