    Description

On the East Coast of NZ, 1&1/2 hours north of Auckland, our beautiful property is about 200 metres from the beach via private access. A 5 min drive will take you to Waipu Cove, a beautiful beach destination and 5 mins the other way takes you to Waipu, a small town with cafes and reknown Pizza Barn. As well as being a thriving tourist centre, it has a strong history and relationship with Scotland and a very strong local and alternative community.

My husband, Martin and I built our house about 6 years ago, it is spacious and has a private space for people to stay. It is fully powered by solar and with our surplus, we feed the electricity grid. Martin grew up in Indonesia and speaks Indonesian, and I grew up in the UK, we moved to NZ many years ago. We have four adult children, who have all left home. We love to cook and share international and spicy meals. We make our own bread, sourcrout, pickles and yogurt. We are down to earth people, we eat meat, have a sense of humour are not politically correct!

In the future, we want to be mostly self sufficient, we have a large vegetable and herb garden, an orchard with over 60 fruit trees and a growing olive grove as well as hens. We love fresh produce and we store a lot of our produce - bottled, frozen or dried. We want assistance around the property, painting, and with gardening and optionally in the kitchen.

We are looking for people who would like to stay 2 weeks max and they must have their own car or be able to get to Waipu (the bus into Waipu is not running for a number of weeks until after Easter, while they undertake road repairs on the Brynderwyn Hills).
