Description
Hi I'm Robin, and I live and work in my home in Tbilisi, Georgia together with my family of four plus our beloved dog Lisa and two cats. My wife and I are journalists. We think anyone who volunteers to stay with us will enjoy our unique home and garden in a quiet neighbourhood just a few minutes walk from the fun and adventure of downtown Tbilisi.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
My partner and I come from different cultural backgrounds (my wife is originally from Uzbekistan and I'm from the UK) and we speak both Russian and English at home, as well as continuing to practice our Georgian(!). As reporters we are both culture vultures and news junkies and love working on stories and issues all about the region, not just Georgia but the wider Caucasus and beyond. We are attracted to visual storytelling with video cameras and radio broadcasts and are always working on new and different projects. We like to travel and visit unexplored places in Georgia, camping in the summer and hikes year round. We are looking for outgoing, curious companions in the home, fun-loving people who can teach our children new ways of thinking about the world (from their own cultural perspectives) and taking part in social activities such a playing games and other fun ventures.

We are currently interested in: a plumber and/or boiler specialist who can fix our creaking hot water and heating system. Carpenter or builder who can help build a bike shed together with my help. We have a large room with an ensuite shower and toilet on the ground floor that has its own separate entrance to the garden/yard. In one corner is a small kitchenette including fridge, sink and gas hobs for cooking your own meals when you want to.
We envisage sharing meals around half of the time, so that we can all enjoy a bit of freedom and independence from each other. We will provide meals or ingredients to make your own meals during your stay in addition to accommodation.
The room has a double bed, a kitchen table and also a sofa bed and tv/shelving area. The sofa bed opens into another comfortable double bed. The room has a door to a reception area of the main house for access to the shared living spaces and kitchen. What else ...
If you don't know anything about Tbilisi and Georgia already we think you will love this capital city of one of the most enchanting and vibrant countries in the modern world. There are all kinds of activities accessible on day trips for every adventurer from the foodie to the intrepid outdoor explorer. Aside from walking into town, there are lots of transport options, a regular public minibus service which runs past our front door, buses, cheap taxis, electric bikes and scooters abound, and there are affordable rail and road options to all corners of the country.
We're not a business or organisation, but an expat family with our own unique backgrounds and jobs, open to meeting new, warmhearted and adventurous souls and hopefully being able to give our visitors a special place to base themselves on their Georgian journey.A little more information
