    Description

I'm Kameko — a yoga teacher with an MA in Ayurveda, a massage therapist, surfer, and the founder of the place, a small, queer women-owned beachfront project on the wild Oaxaca Coast. I've lived and worked in Mexico for almost ten years.

It sits on a private stretch of beach along the Oaxacan Coast, about a 30-minute drive south of Puerto Escondido. We're within walking distance of the next small town, with surf breaks right out front, a turtle sanctuary nearby, and whales passing offshore. It's a quiet, low-key place, and we're looking for good, reliable help to keep building it out.

In exchange for your help, you'll have a beautiful place to call home — beach access, ocean views, and a quiet stretch of the Oaxaca coast to enjoy on your time off. You're welcome to join yoga classes when it fits your schedule.
This is not a party spot — we don't drink or do drugs here, and we're looking for calm, reliable people who feel at home with that. Ideally, you're a surfer with real skills in carpentry, building, or computer admin. Surfers, spanish speakers, queers and yogis/fitness folks to the front!

    Help

You'll be part of our small team while you're here — we share meals, and I check in regularly so the work stays aligned with what you're good at. For garden and admin help, I'm glad to share what I know about permaculture and how the property runs day to day. For woodwork and building, I'm looking for you to bring that expertise and lead the work yourself. In return, I like learning from whoever comes through — different skills, different ways of seeing things.

We're especially hoping to find a surfer with real carpentry or building skills, but we're open to good, reliable volunteers in any of these three areas:

Garden & Permaculture — general upkeep and landscaping of the grounds and gardens across the property.

Building & Woodwork — building storage shelving, cabinets, and freestanding closets with doors throughout the property, plus one or two office desks. We need someone who already has real carpentry or woodworking experience and can lead this work independently — not a beginner-friendly project.

Computer help & Admin — replying to Instagram inquiries about our various offerings, general computer-based problem-solving, and admin support like organizing outreach lists, updating spreadsheets and trackers, and basic content scheduling.

Couples who both bring skills to offer and small families (1 -2 children) will be considered if they can all share a room.

    Accommodation

Private room with ensuite bath in main house or private bungalow. These are high end beach front accommodations. We are looking for volunteers in the slow season in our lux rooms. Access large pool, communal kitchen, huge yoga deck/exercise platform, and private beach access next to surfing beach (intermediate/advanced wave in the summer, water is strong here!). Meals are included and kitchen access. I was a professional chef once so you'll eat well, healthy ayurvedic inspired meals. Brunch/dinner provided. early breakfast and lunch self serve. Please note this area of the world is hot and humid. Summer is rainy season. The private bungalow rooms have fans and screens and stay very cool, there is an AC room in the house we usually use for an office if doing admin work. Please do not apply if youre afraid of bugs , rain or getting dirty!
