Description
We bought a farmhouse in the heart of Transylvania, in Crit, close to Viscri, where Prince Charles is very engaged and supportive.
The area is really beautiful, with lots of nature, hills and forests, cows and sheep on the grasslands, as well as multiculturalism, a rich history, unique fortified churches and hospitable people.
We are a couple, transforming a property into a guesthouse and cultural center but there is a lot of work to do. We are struggling with doing everything by ourselves, so every help would be highly appreciated. It start's with the usual farming/gardening works, but could be also help with digging in the ground, renovating some rooms, scratching off paint of the walls, painting walls, doors, windows, splitting wood and stuff like that. It's a beautiful area, a bit remote but very close to a main road with bus stop and we are trying to have everything done as natural and authentic as possible.
Food and accomodation are provided. You can stay for a few days, preferably min. a week, up to a few weeks or even a few months. We're pretty flexible and totally open-minded. No discrimination whatsoever because of race, gender, sexual identity, etc.!
Please contact us for further details.
Looking forward to meet you!

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Travellers could learn a lot about history and culture of the german minority in Transylvania/Romania.
We will try to get help from local NGOs with teaching traditional ways of building, farming, making bread, pottery, and lots more.Help
Basically it is gardening/ farming and help with renovation works in the house and the barn.
Help with tourists, cleaning and organizing stuff would be also great occasionally.
Please ask for details and provide your experience, so we will be able to get back to you! Many thanks!Languages

Until the guestrooms will be ready, Workawayers will be able to use them, sometimes maybe all by themselves, but if more volunteers/workers are coming, they might have to share their rooms. Bathroom is improvised but functional. There will be one bathroom on the hallway and a bathroom in the yard for camping guests (or people who prefer sleeping outside, in nature - tents can be provided).
Please be aware of the fact that it's a working site with dust and dirt and that we're heating with wood, which sometimes means smoke (at least until the fire gets started) and bringing in/chopping wood.
Of course food is provided too. Sometimes you will cook for yourself, but we try to cook together as well to give you a taste of local cuisine. What else ...
Many nice walks through forests and over hills are possible in the area, there's a great bike path through the neighbouring villages. Beautiful Sighișoara (UNESCO World Heritage) is just 25-30 mins. away. And newly set up Via Transilvanica is passing right in front of our door.
