    Description

We are a family of 4 living in Bariloche, Patagonia, Argentina. We are outdoor enthusiasts and we take advantage of all the things this region has to offer each and every season. We mountain bike, hike, paddle, swim, ride horses, motorbikes, ski, snowboard, backcountry ski, etc. We are a bilingual family, Dad (50) and children 10 and 12 being from Austin, Texas, USA and Mom (43) from Argentina. We are all about sustainability and caring for the environment in every way we can and love to learn about other cultures and regenerative ways of living. We are co-founding our third educational project this time a primary and kindergarten private school in the heart of Bariloche. We have 1 cats and are about to adopt a dog.

We would like to offer lodging in a private cabin in the most touristy area of Patagonia: Bariloche, in exchange for any type of work related to our eco school project. We just opened the doors of our school in March 2025 and here is the help we need: 1- general maintenance of outdoor areas, cleaning up the land: tree trimming, prunning, etc planting an organic garden, arranging a chicken coop and decorating a classroom. Also moving furniture, creating a fire pit area, installing a small fence, etc. ADMIN WORK: We are running a fundraising campaing and also would love help in international cooperation campaings. We also need help chaperoning the group of children during their friday outings and adventures that include hiking and being outdoors in all weather. We need to equip our students with the right clothes for outdoors, someone wuth sewing skills would be helpful. We would love to host a single person or a couple or 2 people that think might enjoy helping in any of these areas.

PLEASE EMAIL US SAYING IN WHAT AREA YOU COULD SPECIFICALLY BE OF HELP, SINCE IN EACH SEASON OR MONTH WE NEED DIFFERENT TASKS TO BE PERFORMED.

We have a rustic yet cozy cabin fully equipped for a couple or an individual right in our backyard. It is a lake front property on Beautiful Gutierrez Lake, in the heart of Bariloche. We are 15 min to the ski center, 25 min downtown, 20 min to the airport. The cabin has its own Internet, kitchen, bathroom with shower, deck and lake access. We have 2 outdoor cats. We don't allow pets in the cabin, no smoking. We don't allow parties or guests. We don't provide food, with the exeption of volunteers that help with food prep in the school kitchen at lunch time (the menue is gluten free and vegetarian). You can borrow our bikes and or kayaks if we aren't using them. Our neighborhood is located by the trailhead of many amazing hikes, including "Refugio Frey" and amazing mountain bike trails like "Paco". The lake is great for kayaking, cold plunges, SUP, swimming, fishing, no water sports allowed. We are also close to rock climbing areas. Supermarket is 8 min walking distance. Great coffee shop with good internet around the corner.
