Description
Hi, we are Patrick and Kat. We are currently renovating a property close to downtown Montreal in a nice quiet and safe neighbourhood. The city is a cultural hub full of art, where there is always something fun to do no matter your budget. Montreal is an amazing destination if you are a foodie or if you enjoy cycling as we are situated along the canal and river, which offer safe car-free bike paths that stretch along beautiful blue waterways.
Our home is located right by a metro (subway station) and city bike rentals, so you can access anywhere in the city easily.Types of help and learning opportunities

- Learn what a house looks like behind walls!
- I can show you how to fix a bike.
- I speak French and know a lot about Montreal, possibility to go out and show you around.
- Home-cooked meals, possibility of serving you Polish food.Help
Type of work: Renovations / House Improvements
Includes tasks like painting, assistance with landscaping, assistance with removal/installation of cabinets, etc.
Work would be adapted to your physical capacity, anything involving heavier lifting will be done in a secure way with the appropriate tools. We have ways to handle dust mitigation and masks are as well as safety glasses are always required. I will be offering guidance and assistance (lead by example).
My philosophy is: "I am not afraid of dirt and hard work", a lot of what we see in the world is the end result, there is a lot of work involved in the background.
We have a preference for Workaways who can personally answer 'YES' to one of these questions:
- I have used and I am comfortable using a skill saw.
- I understand the fundamentals of wood framing.
- I always carry a measuring tape with me and measure twice before cutting.
-I know the difference between a hammer drill and an impact driver.

Accommodation:
You will have your own private living area with private entrance on the upper floor, and we do not take in more than one guest.
The space will be clean, but it is actively part of a renovation project so IT IS NOT furnished and things change every week so being able to adapt is important.
Food provided:
We eat two meals a day, you are welcome to eat with us, or on your own. Your kitchen will be stocked with snacks. Dietary requirements can be taken into account. I will say, if you are a strict vegan it could be harder for dinners, we don't eat a ton of meat, but it's frequently used in meals. What else ...
- Really easy transit by metro (subway) or bus to/from the airport and generally connecting to all of Montreal.
- We typically go to bed at 9-10:30pm, the room on your level has it's own entrance, but keep in mind noise levels past those hours!
- No smoking indoors. We don't expect guests coming over.
- MAXIMUM STAY duration is 2 weeks, if we get a long and things feel easy we can consider extending. We try to offer a decent experience to our workaway guests, this duration allows us as hosts to reset and make sure we have interesting work as well as an adequate menu to offer, etc.A little more information

She was excellent both individually and when we worked together on framing parts of an apartment. She was also willing to do less "interesting" work that was personally helpful for us… read more
Levin was also friendly and offered to help without being asked, thanks again Levin and good luck on your travels!
Normalement j'ai travaillé un peu dans la maison, et l'après-midi et le soir je pouvais sortir découvrir la ville.
Très sympa, avec de bons repas et tout👌
