Description
I am a social worker, climate change activist and passionate about community development work for social transformation. I believe in sharing world perspectives for cross cultural peace and understanding. I am the founder and Director of a community based non profit organisation in my native village in rural Kenya, where I am happy to host international volunteers who would like to immerse themselves with the local community culture as they contribute their time and skills in community development. The area is a rural settlement and the people are very friendly and welcoming.

We will offer accommodation in a host family, with a guest room that could be shared by up to 5 volunteers. The accommodation is safe and secure with basic facilities, electricity available and water will not be a problem. The host family will provide meals for the volunteers, prepared by a member of the family but the travellers are free to engage with the family in preparation of local meals jointly to enrich their cultural experiences. The host will not charge the Workawayers any fees for food and accommodation.
What else ...
The transport systems work best, through public means that include motorbikes(for short distances), public vans. There's a nearby bank for financial needs that accepts Visa, Mastercard etc. Mobile phone networks are often reliable for communication. The volunteers would feel free to visit the nearest city, Kisumu city for personal shopping and fun activities. They would also have the opportunity to visit nearby tourist attractions sites that depicts cultural heritage within the county and beyond, during their free time. We could organise a safari to for the volunteers to experience wildlife etc at their cost.
