    Description

    Hello, Workawayers!
This is my first time using Workaway.
Welcome to my 'corner', located in a small village 80 km east of Berlin, close to the Polish border. My property is almost 8,000 m² in size, which is too much for me to manage alone. I want to transform it into a beautiful, healing space complete with an ecological garden, a flower-filled meadow and relaxation areas.
I live with my two sons. Milan is 15 and Colin is almost 18. Julian, the eldest, visits us from time to time. My sons' father is also a frequent visitor. Unfortunately, none of them like gardening or share my love of plants.
We also have two miniature rabbits, Miku and Zuzia, who jump free in the yard, and an old cat named Madeo.
I do not run a business. The garden is intended solely for personal use and for caring for nature.

I appreciate people who recognise what needs to be done and take the initiative, but of course I will explain the tasks. I welcome workawayers who can integrate as a family member, but I also accept people who enjoy silence and their own company.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

I am Polish and I am currently living in Germany. I enjoy meeting and exchanging ideas with people from all over the world. It is important to me that my children grow up to be open-minded and learn foreign languages. I am also curious about lifestyles in other countries and would like to share travel experiences.
I can share my knowledge and skills in all the things I am passionate about. These include gardening, plants/herbs , cooking vegetarian or vegan meals, painting silk, sewing, recycling textiles, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), yoga, Tai Chi and Qi Gong, and Far Eastern psychology.
I can teach any language I speak and introduce Workawayers to my German and Polish friends.
I am learning to play the piano, and I also have an accordion at home, so musicians are welcome!

  • Help

    Help

As my family members are busy with school, work and their own free time, I welcome help with household and gardening tasks.
The main tasks are weeding, watering, mowing the lawn and planting new plants.
It would also be nice to make creative and useful arrangements in the garden. We have lots of old pallets, wood and clay roof tiles that could be put to good use, so DIY skills and creativity would be an advantage.
There is always something to do.
If I'm busy with work (I work three days a week) or other things, help with cooking would also be much appreciated.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

Workawayers can stay in a room in our part of the house or in a separate room on the other side of the building, which has a private bathroom but no TV.
Alternatively, you can stay in your camper van or a tent.

We usually eat three meals a day and you are welcome to join us and help prepare them. I really enjoy eating outside! On weekdays, we may have to leave quickly in the morning to go to our duties, so you will have to eat alone then, but we will join you in the afternoon.
If you need anything extra, there is a large grocery store in our village.

    Unfortunately, I cannot accept smokers.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Our place is two kilometres from the nearest train station. It takes an hour to get to Berlin.
In your free time, you can relax outside and enjoy the scenery while reading a book in our outdoor seating area, or chill out in the hammock. You can also go cycling or rollerblading – there are lots of trails in the area, including the R1 and D12 routes. You can go for a walk or a jog, or join me for some qigong or yoga in nature. If you like water, I could take you on a magical SUP trip. There are plenty of small, almost current-free tributaries here where you can completely immerse yourself in nature. I love it!
Sometimes I go with my sons and friends by bike or car to swim in Polish lakes and you are welcome to join us. You are also welcome to come with us to our wooden cabin on the Baltic coast.
