We have enjoyed a lot of travelling in the past and would like to continue our connections with travellers from our lovely home.
Scenic Samford valley features Samford Village, which is 2.5kms from our home. There are bicycles available to borrow. Nearby there are many mountain biking trails, numerous bush walks, and the D'Aguilar National Park.
Samford Village contains several preserved heritage buildings, a fascinating history museum, several cafes and restaurants, a century-old pub, an old-fashioned Saturday country market (monthly), and an active arts scene.
At home, there is a relaxing atmosphere, a large pool to enjoy in summer, and open fires in winter. If you need a city fix, it's a 30-minute drive to the CBD or 30 minutes by train from Ferny Grove Station. We can make arrangements to drop you at the train station on some days.Projects involving children

Help
We are an older couple. Phil is semiretired and busy with some community work. I am working full time, in private practice. We are keen for assistance regenerating the rainforest along the river (it's more like a creek at the moment), upgrading and maintaining the flower and vegetable gardens and orchard, playing with our three beautiful poodles, cleaning the pool, and cooking. There is always some kind of work to be done on the property so general maintenance, painting, or cleaning are all possibilities. There is also the possibility of some art projects should that interest you. If you enjoy cooking it would be great to have some input in the kitchen.

Accommodation
We have two double bedrooms for guests. One is occasionally occupied by our adult children when they visit. One bedroom is in the house on the ground floor. The other bedroom is next to the pool away from the house. There is a shared bathroom on the ground floor. Our private accommodation is upstairs. There are fans but no air conditioners in the bedrooms. As the house is rammed earth its temperature is cool in summer and warm in winter.

Member of the family whilst you are here. Share meals, conversations, etc together
We provide all meals and accommodation. We are meat eaters, but love vegetarian and vegan meals and can happily cater for you if you are vegetarian or vegan. If you are interested in cooking that would be good.
We are neat and would ask the same of any house guests. What else ...
We have enjoyed having people from many parts of the world crew with us when we have been cruising on our yacht and look to continue the cultural exchange with workawayers.

They had both been in Australia before and fitted in immediately. They were keen and capable… nothing daunted them; they completed several large turfing and mulching projects in a very short time, plus a range of other… read more
We spent 4 enjoyable weeks with Phil, Kristina and their 3 adorable poodles - Oscar, Alice and Lucy.
Phil and Kristina have been really good host to us.
We had the opportunity to pick up skills in the different tasks that we helped out in (repair and maintain turf, propagation, mulching,… read more
It was our first workaway experience and therefore we did not know what to expect.
What we experienced was a very warm welcome and a beautiful place where we mainly helped to plant veggies, mulched, mowed and weeded. As we did not have much experience, Kristina & Phil… read more
We wish Elisa all the best in her travels and we would be more than happy to see her back here.
I think I was so lucky that I could meet this great family (with adorable poodles XD ).
They taught me many many things about Australia including English.
I wish I'm talking better English now :)
You need to be ready to be a part of their family if you want to see them!
Thank you for a week stay! I hope… read more
