  • Description

    Hello friends!
a warm and happy welcome to our beautiful little big place here in rural Saarland where we live with our friends, enjoying easygoing life, sharing many smiles and a refreshing frankness with each other.

Our village is small and the surrounding countryside is stunningly beautiful. A very quiet hilly scenery and you can walk into the woods within a few minutes to every side from the village and thru the fields. If you go uphill, the forest is magical with vines hanging from the trees and there are mystical sinkholes where you can find fossilized ammonites and special stones if you´re lucky. There are also some celtic tumuli, ancient burial mounds to find right there and when you walk or cycle thru that forest and still a bit thru the fields, there is also a nice lake for swimming. And downhills thru the woods there is the river who gives our area its name, "Blies"gau and its so beautiful here that the Unesco made it to a biosphere reserve.
There´s a little cozy town nearby with a baroque castle, shops and swimming center and we also can take you with us when we drive to the main city of the Saarland, Saarbrücken.
You can also use our bicycles of course.

We live in a multi-generation housing community with 3-4 adults, 2 kids and friends coming by and with us are also a very sweet dog, 2 crazy cats and 15 chickens. We have a big wild garden with lots of herbs and fruit trees, a cozy little community room called The Backstubb (saarlandic dialect for a little bakery ) and a spacious caravan in the back of the garden, which also would be your domicile for your stay.
The fridge inside of it will be full for you with tasty things to eat and you can cook there or in the Backstubb and you also have warm water and energy in the caravan of course. A big bed and nice table with seat bank and view on the garden with the chickens.
Sometimes we eat together but not really daily, so its good if you´re generally searching for serenity and a place to switch off and unwind and not really total community action all of the time. Also the work can be independently most of the time, sometimes we work together but you should be okay with it to also have a quiet time with yourself as we might wont be around sometimes. In the evenings we often make bonfires and sit there together and you will surely like that much.
In the caravan you have a camping toilet and right beside your caravan underneath an appletree with beautiful hanging branches we now placed a stylisch old bath tub and an old boiler, heatable with wood, so you can enjoy an outside bath in nature but of course you can also take a shower inside our house.

We hope you like our profile and will become our new friends soon!!

The Bliesgau is such a cool region with plenty of nature and our village is small and very beautiful. There are busses going to the next town, an old and cozy baroque town, with nice shops, wonderful old buildings and many special places and cultural things. Saarbrücken, the main city of the Saarland you can also easily reached by bus but we also drive there sometimes and can take you with us. You can also use our bicycles so you can explore everything here
