Description
Bom Dia! We are Ryan & Charley, an English couple living on a gorgeous 3 hectare farm located in the wild tranquility of the Tejo International Nature park. Situated 30 minutes from Castelo Branco & Idanha a Nova in Central Portugal.
We are in the early stages of manifesting a life long dream to establish a self sufficient, off grid permaculture community with an emphasis on art and creative expression as tools for self actualisation.
With a background in festival event production, Ryan wishes to utilise these skills for the facilitation of a program of workshops, courses, retreats & multidisciplinary art & music events.
We envision the creation of a space to inspire, educate and facilitate healing and positive transformation in all our guests and residents.Types of help and learning opportunities

What else ...
Being situated in the Tejo International Nature Park we are surrounded by beautiful unspoilt nature. Despite this, we are just 30 minutes from Castelo Branco & Idanha a Nova by bus or car, where you will find all the shops, services & transport links you might require. The region is home to many other off grid community projects & an abundance of social events, workshops, markets, retreats, classes & parties that happen sporadically throughout the year. Ryan is also an ecstatic dance DJ & festival organiser so we are well connected with events in the area.
Our locality boasts some awesome trails for hiking or mountain biking & there are several lakes for swimming within short walking distance of the land. The Nature Park represents an important refuge area for several threatened bird species, including 4 types of Eagle & 3 types of Vulture aswell as Owls, Magpies, Sparrows, and the beautifully colourful European Bee Eater. Its not uncommon for the skies above our land to be filled with groups of 50-100 circling birds of pray riding the thermals!
The most common mammals you might encounter include the Otter, Wildcat, Genet, Wild Boar and the Red Deer.
There are also a plethora of amphibians & reptiles, such as frogs, newts, toads, turtles, lizards & snakes.A little more information
