Description
We are small boutique hotel/hostel driven on community and vibes. It was originally a passion project from my final year Fine Art thesis, which spun off into a clothing line that I created in Jamaica (ps I am also Jamaican btw). Which I then repurposed later on to create this hotel when it was acquired.
It's a combination of artistic vibe, social space, community focus, and relationship building.
We are located perfectly in the center of the town, so very easy to walk to places, but surprisingly quiet at night too.
There are currently 5 locally paid staff, mostly receptionists and cleaning staff.

If you are surfer you will really enjoy this space El Tunco has some of the most consistent and amazing point break.
if you are yoga or wellness enthusiast, definitely up your alley we are more prone to have yoga teachers here because the space really welcomes a great meditative session.
If you are a digital nomad extremely easy to use fast internet and highly functionaly town. where there is varity of things to all in walkable proximity.
If you wanna learn spanish this town is still quite early for tourist so you are still mostly hanging with locals. and on the weekend locals from all of the country come here to see relax, party and just have a good time.

Volunteer Overview & Primary Responsibilities
As a volunteer, you're more than just support—you’re the vibe-setter, the connector, and the go-to for guests outside reception hours.
Here’s what you’ll be responsible for:
✏️ 1. Daily Activity Chalkboard - Keep our community engaged! Update the daily chalkboard with planned activities, events, or surf conditions. Feel free to get creative and make it fun and eye-catching.
🤝 2. Be the Connector - Your main job is to create a welcoming, friendly atmosphere for guests:
Mingle with guests, especially solo travelers, and help spark conversations.
Share recommendations (food, surf, nightlife, tours).
Introduce guests to one another and promote a social, inclusive hostel vibe.
WhatsApp group management -
🌙 3. Late Check-ins - Be the friendly face for late arrivals:
Receive guests arriving after reception hours.
Collect payment for the night before assigning rooms.
Make sure they’re settled comfortably for the night.
4. Social Media Content - you will also be responible for help producing content for our social media team of the day-to-day life at the hotel. You can also shoot content of you exploring El Salvador and all the activites it has to offer.

Accommodation
We provide a basic minimum of free bunk bed, shared kitchen space, food storage and extra bonus free use of surfboards.
we also have a nice sound system set up in the lounge area that is very nice.
What else ...
While we don’t allow heavy partying in the volunteer room, the hostel naturally becomes a social “meeting spot” from Thursday to Saturday nights. Thanks to our central location, locals and travelers often gather here before heading out. It’s a great way to meet people and get a feel for the local scene.
We keep things chill and community-focused. Volunteers are expected to help keep the space clean, respect quiet hours in sleeping areas, and bring a good vibe. If you're open-minded, social, and enjoy being part of a diverse, welcoming crew—you’ll fit right in!
