    Description

KITCHEN TEAM REQUIRED FOR CLEANING, FOOD PACKING AND VEG PREP
(if you can ride a large bicycle rickshaw that would be an added bonus)

Come and join us in our kitchen! The activities here involve the day to day running of the kitchen. This can include participating in food prep activities such as baking cakes, frying pakoras, chopping vegetables etc. Alongside the food preparation, there are also tasks which keep the whole operation running smoothly like cleaning, washing and storage of food, so be prepared to get stuck in with your ENTHUSIASIC and POSITIVE attitude.
The hours are 5 hours a day, 5 days a week. The work starts at 8.00 am and requires someone who is able to function well with early morning starts. There are also opportunities to go out and experience food service to the homeless and we encourage all workaways to experience this during their stay.

    Additional Info:
This premises is in an odd location. It's at the back of an underground carpark and while this can seem a bit funny to start with, don't worry, everyone quickly settles in, and it will start to feel like home in no time at all. The accomodation is bunk beds in a mixed dormitory. Due to the early starts please don't apply if you are a heavy snorer.

We are also a Hare Krishna spiritual charity so an open minded attitude to spitituality and culture is required. If you are interested in learning about this spititual branch there are many oportunities to do that here but there is no obligation if this does not interest you.

We accomadate many workawayers at a time so there is always the opportunity to learn from each other about different countries. We have a spacious lounge room and we are trying to adopt a culture of skills sharing/exchange.

Please take responsibility for the health and safety of you and your team mates. If you don't feel comfortable doing a particular task, ask for help or for someone else to do it.

    ......

There is a communal kitchen, lounge, bathroom and dormitory for the Workaway team, which you will be responsible for keeping clean and tidy.

    ......

We leave the Workaway team to organise themselves so that the individuals can find their preferred roles. We provide an environment of freedom and hope you will feel comfortable, able to express yourselves and make your own contribution to our project. All we ask is that you take responsibility and show respect for the rest of your team and our project by simply doing the best that you can and having consideration for others.

    Accommodation

We are based in an unusual location, so please don't be alarmed! After a few days, it will feel like home.

We have a mixed dormitory bunk beds and some storage space. The dormitory is small so please don't bring too much luggage and it is very important that people can rest, so if you are a snorer, please do not apply, as you might be asked to leave otherwise.

The kitchen has a cooking facility and a variety of food items. You are welcome to enjoy the food that we make each day, or to prepare your own meals with the ingredients that we have.

The bathroom has a toilet and shower. You will need to bring a sleeping bag and a towel. It is also a good idea to bring a sleeping mask and ear plugs.
