    Description

Hi there, welcome to our profile! We are Denise and Timothy, from The Netherlands. We made our dream come true, and bought a house in the beautiful region of Alicante 🌿.
Our house is located in the Spanish countryside, surrounded by fields with olive trees, almond trees that now are blossoming with the most beautiful white and pink flowers 🌺💮 ...
The property is really like paradise, a beautiful place with breathtaking views of the mountains and with lots of olive trees.
Only 5 minutes away from a charming and traditional Spanish village (with plenty of bars, and a castle) . We fel in love with it right away! 😍

We have a big garden, almost 6 hectares, mostly olive trees and almond trees. But they haven't been maintained for years as the house was abandoned. So we can use some extra hands 😅💪🏻 . Mostly cutting back trees, pruning and weeding.
Picture yourself walking around the garden, the sun on your face, the birds tjilping, and you'll probably spot a few rabbits running around 🐰😍 . It is a very mindful job, but it can also be quite heavy.
We are happy if you could help us just a couple of hours (3-max 4) a day. You'll have plenty of time to relax 😊

In the near future we would like to create a vegatable garden 🍎 🥦 . If you can teach us more about agriculture that would be perfect. People who don't have any knowledge of agriculture are ofcourse also more than welcome 😇.

It is just the 2 of us. No kids. Only a rescue cat called Dotje 🐱 She is really cute.
We are both very sporty, love to go to the gym 🏋🏼‍♀️ , make hikes in nature 👣 . In Alicante they offer free salsa class on Sundays, wich we try to attend to every week. It is very fun and a nice way to learn the basic steps of salsa and meet new people 💃🏼 . Feel free to join us if you like!
We are very social, love to meet new people, learn about other countries and traditions. How is life where you come from?
There are many things to do in the area. We can show you around in our town, visit the medieval castle and go to one of the weekly markets.
There is also a Via Verde 🏃🚴 close to our house and plenty of trails to run and hike .

    Where?
📍We live in a lovely little town called Biar. with only 3000 inhabitants. The village has a castle, nice squares and coloured houses. The people are warm and friendly. It is a very green area, with lots of hiking trails and posibilities for cycling/ climbing.
Alicante and it's beaches are only 30 minutes away. Valencia is 1hour drive by car.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We want to share our beautiful oasis. Give our guests the opportunity to experience how it is to live in the Spanish country side. The people who have been here say it's a very magical place, that make you ground. People feel inspired and more connected with themselves.
We want to offer a place to meet new people, learn about different cultures. Share life stories over a good glass of wine and a campfire.

    Accommodation

We are welcoming people that are travelling with their campervan. And for the guests without a van we offer a tent to sleep in. It is a big tent, with 2 sleeping compartments, (so we can host 2 guests) , placed on a beautiful spot between the olive trees.. Waking up by the sound of the birds 🐦 , rabbits running around 🐰. At night you can hear the owl 🦉.

We are renovating the house, so we live in a campervan ourselves. There is no kitchen in the house, but there is a fridge that you can use, a toilet🚽 and shower 🚿 . I would like to mention that as we live in the campo (offgrid) there is limited water, and electricity. For showering and flushing the toilet we use rainwater. No water means no showers.

There is water and tea available all day, some fruit 🍊 🍐 , you can use the fridge, and we will prepare a (basic) meal a day (diner) so we can eat together 🍽️.

Our preference goes to guests who would like to stay for a longer period of time, 1-2 weeks, with a minimum stay of 4 days 😊

  • What else ...

    What else ...

    Remote life/ off grid living
-We would like to ask you to take into account that because we live in a remote area, water must be saved and that you can't shower for very long ( 3 minutes).🚿

    - When you use the toilet, we only flush number two’s. The toiletpaper🧻 goes in a bin, because we have a cisterna.

It might feels a little like you are going back into time. You will get used to all this. We did as well😊

    - Please add "encantada" in your text so we know you have read the whole profile 🙏🏻
